Bell Ringers
The church has a fine ring of 8 bells which are rung regularly by the local ringers. We currently have a band of only eight ringers.
Ringing is one of those activities in which young people can take part alongside adults. Some people start ringing in their teens, or earlier, and may carry on ringing for the rest of their life while others start as adults. Ringing is a skill which can be learnt with appropriate teaching and practice. We would not normally teach anyone under 11 but there is no upper age limit, although older learners tend to progress more slowly than youngsters. It can be an enjoyable hobby which includes some physical exertion and mental stimulus and for those who are getting on in life it can be a way of keeping the brain active.
