PCC membership

The PCC consists of the Vicar, the Churchwardens, parochial representatives of the laity to the Deanery Synod, parochial representatives of the laity to the PCC and co-opted members.

Churchwardens

The two churchwardens are elected each year by the Annual Meeting of Parishioners. They are ex officio members of the PCC and have certain particular responsibilities.

Details about the role and election of Churchwarden can be found here. Nomination forms are available at the back of the church or can be downloaded below,

Deanery Synod Representatives

The parochial representatives of the laity to the Deanery Synod (normally called Deanery Synod Representatives) are elected at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting. The number to be elected from each parish depends on the number of the church electoral roll – at the moment we are entitled to three representatives. They are elected for a term of office of three years – elections were held in 2020 and are next due in 2023. In addition to being members of the Deanery Synod they are also ex officio members of the PCC. Anyone elected to the Diocesan Synod or General Synod is also ex officio a member of their local Deanery Synod and PCC.

Details about their role and election can be found here. Nomination forms can be downloaded below,

Elected PCC members

The parochial representatives of the laity to the PCC are also elected at the Annual Paochial Church Meeting. They are normally referred to as elected members. The number depends on the number on the church electoral roll. At the moment there are 12. The term of office is three years and a third are elected each year so there are normally 4 elected each year. If a member does not complete their full term of office the vacancy can be filled for the remainder of their term.

Details about their role and election can be found here. Nomination forms can be downloaded below,
