We are returning to something closer to normal.
It is up to each individual to decide whether or not they should wear a face covering in church.
The church doors will remain closed during services to help to keep the church warm.
In the pews by the wall of the South Aisle we will continue to ask that social distancing be maintained so that those who wish to maintain social distancing can do so.
Do not attend church if you have any covid symptoms or are meant to be isolating.

A Churchwarden’s Reminiscences 1973-1999
26 years is a long time in the life of anyone, but in the totality of time, it is like the flutter of an eyelid.
I find it difficult to know what to write, because these years have seen so many changes in church life. Bear with me, as I recall some of the things that readily spring to mind.
Since 1973 there have been five Vicars and Priests-in-Charge: Christopher Walters, Roy Bradbury, Gill Bloomfield, John Daimond, Maureen Hobbs.
One important change has been in services and liturgy. In 1973 we had 8am Holy Communion using the Book of Common Prayer (BCP) every Sunday and on the first Sunday there was a 12 noon Holy Communion (BCP). There was also the 9.45 am Family Communion (BCP) and 11 am Matins (BCP) each Sunday. Sunday School was at 2.45 pm and Evensong (BCP) at 6.30 pm. Very different to present day practice.
Baptisms are another area of change. Many now take place during the morning Family/Holy Communion services. In 1973, never; they were always private services, usually in the afternoon on selected Sundays.
Service books are another change. There was, and still is, the Book of Common Prayer. Then we had in addition, the Series 2 Communion, followed later by Series 3 Communion, then the Alternative Service Book and now Common Worship. All good in their way, but I do hope and pray that any envisaged changes, bringing the new, will retain the best of our traditions and not cast them aside ‘just for the sake’ of change.
And what about hymn books! We are now on our 4th since 1973. Then it was Hymns Ancient and Modern, followed by the Anglican Hymn Book, and this gave way to Hymns Old and New-Anglican Edition, and now we have the new Ancient & Modern.
Change is constant.
We all seem to cope very well with changes, personally though, I do wish the publishers would not change the words! (Although I do understand why).
For what was, thanks be to God.
For what is, thanks be to God.
For what will be, thanks be to God.
Your brother in Christ
Alan Stubbs

Ukraine
We are all aware of the current situation in Ukraine. It may seem that there is little or anything that we in Pattingham and Patshull can do but we can pray and those of us who are able can give either money or items which are needed. These can either support the aid efforts in Ukraine or support those refugees who have left Ukraine, particularly those who have come to this country. Donations to the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal will be matched pound-for-pound by the UK Government up to £20 million. To donate or find out more go to https://www.dec.org.uk/ .
Prayers for Peace
We are saying Prayers for Peace in church every evening (except Sundays) at 6 pm. This normally lasts about 15 minutes. We have a rota so that there are one or two people present to lead the prayers although anyone else who wishes to come and join them is welcome to do so and can also say a prayer if they wish. Those who are not able to come to church may wish to pause and say a prayer of their own at that time.
If you can offer to join the rota – or even just do one or two evenings – please contact Dorothy Steel ( / 01902 701855).
