We will join Perton for the Lent Course
St Chad’s has decided this year to do something different for a Lent Course: we plan to join the course which the Church at Perton is running.
This will give us the chance to meet and get to know better our nearest church community.
We all use Perton for shopping so why not get to know the church members there and widen our horizons a bit?
The course is called Lifting the Lid and is a six-week Bible study produced by the charity Livability, which connects people with their communities, tackling social exclusion and the barriers that cause this in the lives of the disabled and vulnerable.
Did you know that one in four of us will have a diagnosable mental health condition in our lifetime?
Lifting the Lid is a great resource, focused on faith and mental health, created to help church small groups use the Bible as a guide to emotional and mental wellbeing.
People can be wary of sharing their experiences; opening discussions can be challenging but churches can play a key role in lifting the lid on mental health, by creating spaces for listening and welcoming.
The course will be run at two different times and people can swop between them if necessary.
They will be at 7.30pm on Tuesdays – 12th, 19th, 26th March and 2nd, 9th and 16th April 2019
They will also be at 10.30 am on Wednesdays – 13th, 20th, 27th March and 3rd, 10th and 17th April 2019
If there is anyone who would like to go but does not have transport, we can provide
