The PCC\u2019s meeting on 20th December was held in Pattingham Club. Among the matters discussed were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Christmas Tree Festival<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Christmas Tree Festival was a great success. The raffle at the concert on the Saturday evening raised \u00a3350 for Acorns Children\u2019s Hospice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Overall the festival raised just under \u00a33,000 for church funds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Area by the Adam and Eve Window<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The work in the area by the Adam and Eve window is nearing completion. The cupboards have been installed and look very good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The tiles will be laid during February by which time the base, which was laid after the removal of the wooden pew platform, will have dried out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Century Club<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n There were 16 subscriptions not renewed in December to death, illness or the subscriber moving away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We need to try to recruit new members who would be able to help support the church and have a chance to win \u00a3150 each month for an annual cost of \u00a360.<\/p>\n\n\n\n See the Century Club page<\/a> for more details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Appointing a new vicar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The PCC discussed the matter of a new vicar and was to meet the Bishop of Wolverhampton, the rural dean and the deanery lay chairman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At that meeting, on January 11, the bishop gave us the good news that our half-time post will be joined to a new half-time diocesan post which will effectively create a full-time post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This will obviously make the post more attractive to any candidates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We hope to be able to advertise the position soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
