Whether it&#8217;s a few hours occasionally or a regular longer-term commitment, everyone has something to offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A survey completed previously by village residents highlighted some areas where we could develop more community-based events and support. A few ideas that are either underway or being discussed include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Activities for the young people of the village including a regular weekly club and holiday clubs in conjunction with Kingswood Trust<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Village event committee<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Who&#8217;s for Lunch<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dementia Support<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Community litter picking<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scarecrow festival September<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Village Celebrations for the coronation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Village Fete<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Safe space for girls<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Warm space to come and chat.And many, many, more !<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>And many, many, more !<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your village community needs you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please come forward and let\u2019s discuss how you may help!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Initially email your details to <a href=\"mailto:oandg@pattinghamchurch.org.uk\">oandg@pattinghamchurch.org.uk<\/a> . There will be an appeal collection in aid of the victims of the Turkey and Syria earthquake.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>At 6.30 pm <\/strong><\/strong>there will be a <strong>service of Evensong<\/strong>, led by Ken Scott, in church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the <strong>Parish Prayer Diary<\/strong> we pray for those who live or work in:<br>Rudge Road, Lower Rudge, Spoonley Gate, Upper Ludstone, Worcester Road<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the <strong>Trysull Deanery Prayer Diary<\/strong> we pray for: All Saints, Trysull.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"This_week\">This week<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The church will be open every day. <\/strong>Look out for the &#8220;church open&#8221; sign outside the porch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Century Club draw<\/strong> takes place on <strong>Monday<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>On Tuesday Prayers for Peace<\/strong> will be said in church at <strong>6 pm<\/strong>. Prayers for Peace now takes place on Tuesdays only during the winter months. Please do join us and if you would like more information or are willing to lead a session, please contact Mary Hayward (<a href=\"mailto:maryleah@hotmail.co.uk\">maryleah@hotmail.co.uk<\/a>)<em><strong>.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>On Wednesday <\/strong>there will be a service of <strong>Holy Communion<\/strong> according to the Book of Common Prayer, led by Revd James Makepeace, in church at 10.00 am which will be followed by tea, coffee and cake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>After the service<\/strong> the church will be open<strong> from 10.30 am<\/strong> until at least 11.00 am as a <strong>Place of Welcome<\/strong> when anyone who wants to will be welcome to share in the coffee, cake and chat, whether they have been to the service or not. The church heating will be on so those attending will be warm as well as receiving a warm welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On <strong>Thursday<\/strong> at <strong>9.30 am<\/strong> there will be a <strong>School Service for St <\/strong><strong>Chad&#8217;s Day<\/strong> in church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a <strong>Lent Course<\/strong> at the <strong>Church at Perton<\/strong> which started last week. There is a choice of two times &#8211; <strong>Thursdays<\/strong> at <strong>7.30pm<\/strong> and <strong>Fridays<\/strong> at <strong>11am<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Next_Sunday\">Sunday 5th March &#8211; The Second Sunday of Lent<br><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>At 10 am <\/strong>there will be a <strong>Family Service<\/strong><strong>,<\/strong> led by Philip Sims and Dorothy Steel. The choir of St Chad&#8217;s School will be joining us for this service. <strong>Coffee (and tea and biscuits) will be available after the service.<\/strong> There will be <strong>no communion<\/strong> service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the <strong>Parish Prayer Diary<\/strong> we pray for those who live or work in:<br>Nurton Hill Road,\u00a0 Holyhead Road, County Lane, High Park<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the <strong>Trysull Deanery Prayer Diary<\/strong> we pray for: St Chad&#8217;s, Pattingham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Comp\">Colouring competition to support Ukraine \u2013 and win a prize<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A colouring competition for children and young people to the age of 16 is being held \u2013 with the aim of raising awareness of the plight of Ukraine and its people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pre-printed colouring sheets with a number of different designs are available from two holders at the back of the church and those intending to take part can choose which one they prefer. Entries can be as colourful and creative as the entrant wishes. There is a blue box file to put completed masterpieces! Closing date is April 2nd at 12 noon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be prizes in a number of age groups: under 5s, 5 to 7, 8 to 11, and 12 and over. The awards may well include an Easter Egg \u2013 and a certificate \u2013 and who knows, there could even be creme eggs available too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Posters are advertising the competition, which is organised by Jill Baker, and the closing date is Sunday 2nd April at 12 noon.
