Snippets from the PCC Meeting – 17th January 2023<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The PCC\u2019s meeting on 17th January was held in church. Among the matters discussed were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Appointing a new vicar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The process for appointing the new vicar is moving forward. The half-time post of Vicar of Pattingham with Patshull is being combined with a half-time diocesan post: Bishop’s Adviser on the Environment, The post has now been advertised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The note on the diocesan website says: \u201cThe PCC and the Bishop of Lichfield are keen to attract a priest with a heart for community-based mission within a rural village setting and with a passion for environmental justice for this exciting, pioneering joint post.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We hope that it will attract a number of applicants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The closing date is March 10 and interviews are expected to take place on March 29.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the person appointed is likely to have to give at least three months\u2019 notice it will be at least the middle of July \u2013 and possibly later \u2013 that the new vicar will take up their post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Holiday Club<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the success of the Holiday Club which was held in the summer at Kingwood there will be a two-day Easter holiday club, also at Kingswood. It will be for those in school years 5 to 8 (ages nine to 13) and will be lead by Lisa Ainsworth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We expect to hold another Holiday Club in the summer but the position will be reviewed following the Easter Holiday Club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Annual Meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The church annual meeting will be held on Sunday May 21 at 11.3C)am, following the morning service. Everyone is welcome to attend. There will be vacancies for members of the PCC and for representatives to the Deanery Synod.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are interested in finding out more about those roles then speak to one of the churchwardens or any member of the PCC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Awayday<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PCC spent a day on January 21 discussing various matters in more depth. We looked at how various events in 2023 would be organised and at how we could respond to the various pastoral needs of church members and others in the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also explored ways in which we could work with the school and with others to foster links with children and families and also support them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fruits of those discussions will hopefully become apparent during the course of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
