But I\u2019d been taught<br>they must be kept, however fraught!<br>The aftermath had now set in.<br>No longer on my face that grin,<br>but frowns of anguish, racing heart,<br>blood pressure high and off the chart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A sudden calm subdued my fear<br>Replaced with thoughts I hold so dear.<br>Wealth cannot buy how I\u2019ve been blessed<br>by family\u2019s love \u2013 priceless happiness.<br>Dear parents whose Christian Faith they taught<br>not just in words, but deeds and thought.<br>Eventually, I met the man I knew was \u2018Mr Right\u2019.<br>Courageously, one day he asked would I become his wife.<br>The consequence of saying \u201cyes\u201d<br>we were blessed with children two<br>and thankful for all they\u2019ve achieved, almost in all they do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A younger generation now has joined the family tree.<br>Roles have reversed, they now teach me<br>this complex new technology,<br>but cannot understand Grandma<br>would rather sit and write<br>than learn about communicating<br>at the speed of light!<br>For her it\u2019s so impersonal \u2013 she feels it so much better<br>receiving news handwritten in a very friendly letter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recalling all the memories the decades bring to mind,<br>anxieties, joys and sorrows experienced over time;<br>there\u2019s always been a Greater Being, the centre of it all.<br>Unseen his presence, but I know he hears me when I call<br>with prayers of thanks, or for guidance<br>in the way that must be trod.<br>And always in the answer has been the Hand of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"would-you-like-to-write-a-view-from-the-pews\">Would you like to write a View from the Pews?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We welcome contributions for View from the Pews from anyone who would like to write one, It does not need to be on any particular subject. When they are not available a message can be left on the voicemail and they will return the call when they are available. The choir of St Chad&#8217;s School will be joining us for this service. <strong>Coffee (and tea and biscuits) will be available after the service.<\/strong> There will be <strong>no communion<\/strong> service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the <strong>Parish Prayer Diary<\/strong> we pray for those who live or work in:<br>Nurton Hill Road,&nbsp; Holyhead Road, County Lane, High Park<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the <strong>Trysull Deanery Prayer Diary<\/strong> we pray for: St Chad&#8217;s, Pattingham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"This_week\">This week<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The church will be open every day. <\/strong>Look out for the &#8220;church open&#8221; sign outside the porch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>On Tuesday Prayers for Peace<\/strong> will be said in church at <strong>6 pm<\/strong>. Prayers for Peace now takes place on Tuesdays only during the winter months. Please do join us and if you would like more information or are willing to lead a session, please contact Mary Hayward (<a href=\"mailto:maryleah@hotmail.co.uk\">maryleah@hotmail.co.uk<\/a>)<em><strong>.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>On Wednesday <\/strong>there will be a service of <strong>Holy Communion<\/strong> according to the Book of Common Prayer, led by Revd James Makepeace, in church at 10.00 am which will be followed by tea, coffee and cake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>After the service<\/strong> the church will be open<strong> from 10.30 am<\/strong> until at least 11.00 am as a <strong>Place of Welcome<\/strong> when anyone who wants to will be welcome to share in the coffee, cake and chat, whether they have been to the service or not. The church heating will be on so those attending will be warm as well as receiving a warm welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The<strong> Lent Course<\/strong> at the <strong>Church at Perton<\/strong> continues. There is a choice of two times &#8211; <strong>Thursdays<\/strong> at <strong>7.30pm<\/strong> and <strong>Fridays<\/strong> at <strong>11am<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Next_Sunday\">Sunday 12th March &#8211; The Third Sunday of Lent<br><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>At 10 am <\/strong>there will be a <strong>service of <\/strong><strong>Holy Communion,<\/strong> led by Revd James Makepeace, in church.<strong>Coffee (and tea and biscuits) will be available after the service.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>At 6.30 pm <\/strong>there will be an <strong>Iona style <\/strong><strong>service<\/strong>, led by Ken Scott, in church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the <strong>Parish Prayer Diary<\/strong> we pray for we pray for those members of the congregation who live or work in:<br>Orchard Close, Damson Park, Highgate Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the <strong>Trysull Deanery Prayer Diary<\/strong> we pray for: Holy Cross, Bilbrook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Comp\">Colouring competition to support Ukraine \u2013 and win a prize<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A colouring competition for children and young people to the age of 16 is being held \u2013 with the aim of raising awareness of the plight of Ukraine and its people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pre-printed colouring sheets with a number of different designs are available from two holders at the back of the church and those intending to take part can choose which one they prefer. Entries can be as colourful and creative as the entrant wishes. There is a blue box file to put completed masterpieces! Closing date is April 2nd at 12 noon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There will be prizes in a number of age groups: under 5s, 5 to 7, 8 to 11, and 12 and over. The awards may well include an Easter Egg \u2013 and a certificate \u2013 and who knows, there could even be creme eggs available too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Posters are advertising the competition, which is organised by Jill Baker, and the closing date is Sunday 2nd April at 12 noon.
