‘Churchwardens’ Chat’<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

We are now in an interregnum following the retirement of the Vicar and so the monthly letter for the Parish News is written by the Churchwardens<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

July 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018In this quiet moment \u2013 make a better me . . .\u2019\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We continue to pray in church at 6pm every Tuesday for all involved in the war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please join us for 15 minutes of quiet, when we give thanks for all the lives lost and pray for all suffering from the effects of war in Ukraine and in Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We enjoyed a joyous occasion, welcoming Bishop Michael on Sunday, June 11 to lead a service of Confirmation for candidates from across our deanery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our thanks to all who worked so hard on a very hot day, especially our refreshment team (led by Gena) and to all who contributed cakes. Please pray for all the newly-confirmed into our church family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We appreciate all the work from so many volunteers (led by Anna) who help to make our Fete, planned for Saturday, July 1, a lovely enjoyable village family event. Thank you for supporting this event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bookings are underway for our Holiday Club taking place on Monday, August 7 and Tuesday, August 8, with two fun-filled adventure days at The Kingswood Trust in Albrighton. All details are also on the church website here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may soon see some notices reminding everyone of the Churchyard Regulations and the survey of the graveyard which will take place during the summer. If you have any worries or concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to us or to Ken, Iain or Gena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we become engrossed in our busy summer schedules, take a moment to remember to fill in a form to register to make a scarecrow for our Scarecrow Festival in September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The closing date for registering a scarecrow is August 20 and if you have any queries, please call Chrissie Ringrose on 700340.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let us all make sure 2023 is marked with a record number of scarecrows providing fun across the village for our whole community to enjoy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We continue to offer Home Communion to anyone who cannot get out of the house so let us know if you would like a visit or you know of someone who would appreciate this contact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, as you know we continue to pray for a new vicar to fill our vacant post, to lead us and support us in our mission, carrying out God\u2019s work in our community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will shortly be advertising for a third time: see the article by PCC chairman Philip Sims in ChadNet 168<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We really are grateful to all visiting clergy who support us, leading our worship and encouraging us to carry on our work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
