Snippets from the PCC Meeting – 19th September 2023<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n

The Parochial Church Council meeting on 19th September was held in church. Among the matters discussed were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eco church<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are continuing to seek community engagement in our eco work. Plans are being made for children from the school to join us for daffodil bulb planting in the Wild Area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are also going to hold an art competition to design the cover for the church Easter card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dementia friendly church<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tracey Williams\u2019 efforts as our dementia friendly church co-ordinator continue. She and Dorothy will be leading the Family Service on November 5 with a dementia friendly church theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outreach and growth group<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This group is continuing its work on a number of items. It is planning a Young Responders course for 12- to 1&yearolds which will cover elements of first aid. Planning for the proposed families and childrens\u2019 worker post is also continuing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group is also working on next year\u2019s fete, a replacement for the Bells Run and the church magazine among other projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Churchyards and church fabric<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The work needed to address the recommendations in the architect\u2019s quinquennial Inspection last year has been identified and a contractor appointed to carry it out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The architect is still in the process of getting quotations for the works to the west door area for which a faculty was granted earlier in the year and we hope that those works will be able to be started in the next few months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Redecoration of The Loft was due to take place in mid-October. Work has also been undertaken to tidy up St Mary\u2019s churchyard at Patshull and the regular maintenance of St Chad’s churchyard at Pattingham continues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Financial Position<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The treasurer and the finance committee have been keeping an eye on the church\u2019s financial position and reporting regularly to the PCC. On current information, regular giving win be less this year than last and there will be a loss on the general fund which will get bigger next year unless changes are made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PCC members<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
