How could one small tissue create such a mess? I suppose it\u2019s like spilling a small amount of liquid in the kitchen on the worktop; it trickles and drips over the surface, down the front of the cupboard and maybe seeps into a drawer. Once again, something small making a big mess.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s often the way, isn\u2019t it, that something little can have a big knock-on effect; unlike spills in the kitchen, a few kind words of encouragement, a smile, a letter or phone call, can make a huge difference in a positive way, to the people we meet.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/shoeboxes_240x169.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"240\" height=\"169\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/shoeboxes_240x169.jpg\" alt=\"Shoeboxes\" class=\"wp-image-11217\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>We have recently been gathering shoe boxes for the Link to Hope Christmas appeal. These are now on their way to people in Romania, Moldova, Bulgaria and Ukraine, who have very little. This year we have collected 56 shoeboxes from people in the village, the school, friends and family, who have put together these boxes of essentials and small treats, which are going to bring such joy. Just a small shoebox, but added to those I saw at the collection point in Albrighton, these will make a huge difference to many people this Christmas. Over 56 boxes could well bring a smile to more than 150 people! So thank you to everyone who has helped. We will have made a difference.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We can\u2019t influence the big issues of world peace, global warming or pandemics, but we must never underestimate the effects of small acts of kindness.<br><br>Barbara Tritton<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Would you like to write a View from the Pews?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We welcome contributions for View from the Pews from anyone who would like to write one. Those attending will receive a warm welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On <strong>Wednesday<\/strong> at <strong>6 pm<\/strong> the <strong>Pattingham Shower Singers<\/strong> meet in church. They will be held on Wednesday mornings at 11.00 am at St Chad&#8217;s Church, Patttingham and repeated on Thursday evenings at the Church at Perton. The wishing well is also at the back of the church if you have any spare loose change. Donations, however small, go towards running costs. Don\u2019t be shy, every little helps!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reverse Advent Calendar<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Well\u2019s annual Reverse Advent Calendar is back. The idea is really simple &#8211; put the item on the calendar into a box\/bag each day in December leading up to Christmas, then donate it to the Well food bank.
