Snippets from the PCC Meeting – 21st November 2023<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n

The Parochial Church Council meeting on 21st November was held in church. Among the matters discussed were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Church fabric<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contractors will be starting work on the church building on January 22. It will include the work needed to address the recommendations in the architect\u2019s quinquennial Inspection last year and also completing the repairs to the roof of the north aisle following the theft of the lead last year. They will also be doing the work to the area around the west door which will include draughtproofing, renovating the door and removing the wooden screen and curtains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scarecrow Festival<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cheques from the proceeds of the Scarecrow Festival were to be presented to St Chad\u2019s School and the Village Hall at the Family Service on December 3 and gifts were also to be presented to Chrissie Ringrose and Mike Coope in recognition of their hard work in making the festival a success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prayer diaries<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Deanery Prayer Diary and the Parish Prayer Diary have been updated for 2024. They are available on the church web site and at the back of the church. They can be used either in private prayer or as part of church services to pray in turn for the various churches in our deanery and those who live or work in our parish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dementia Friendly Church<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the dementia themed service in November we have fulfilled our three aims for the year that allowed us our first dementIa-friendly church certificate. We will need to identify another three aims for 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PCC was impressed that several members of the congregation attended the Wolverhampton Interfaith Dementia Conference in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
