Snippets from the PCC Meeting – 19th December 2023<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The PCC meeting on 19th December was held in church. Among items discussed were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Future planning<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the failure to attract any applications to be our new vicar the PCC is hoping to meet the Archdeacon to discuss our options. We will then be able to review our Mission Action Plan and decide on our plans and priorities for the coming year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Young Responders<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Outreach and Growth Group has organised a course on lifesaving first aid for young people aged 12 to 18 years old. Keith Eden, who is a member of the group, is running the course, which is provided by St John Ambulance, and the church is supporting it financially.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be no cost for those who attend the course and those who complete it successfully will be presented with certificates at a church service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wedding and funeral fees<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most fees for weddings and funerals are set by the Church of England nationally. From January 1, they have been increased by 5per cent, Fees for optional extras such as organist, choir and bellringers are fixed by the PCC, which has decided to increase most of
those by only 4per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The full table of fees is on the church website and on the notice board in the church porch<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Card donation machines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We now have two contactless card machines which can be used to make donations to the church using a credit or debit card or a suitable smartphone. They are near the main door on both sides. They are easy to use and will useful, particularly for those who no longer carry cash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PCC members<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since this meeting Graham Tritton has joined the PCC with a view to taking over as treasurer from Tony Ainsworth when he stands down from that role at the annual meeting in May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The members of the PCC are now: Philip Sims (Chairman), Tony Ainsworth, Iain Coleman, Milly Colin-Stokes, Geoffrey Dann, Henry lbberson, Clive Pendrell, Alan Smith, Dorothy Steel, Graham Tritton and Tracey Williams.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
