It was sent to 34 subscribers. The circulation has grown steadily since then and this edition is being sent to 132 subscribers.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over those four years ChadNet has become an important channel of communication for our church but one of the interesting developments is the transformation of View from the Vicarage into View from the Pews. The contributions from many members of our congregation have been on all sorts of subjects and have all been appreciated.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the contributions have been odes from the Pattingham Anonymous Poet and there&#8217;s another one this week, which is particularly suitable for Passiontide and Easter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wishing you all a Happy Easter<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Geoffrey Dann<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Trees and Me<br>By<br>Pattingham Anonymous<br><br><\/em><\/strong><em>The trees were clothed in lovely sheen,<br>In various shades of softest green,<br>Then change they will, to brown and gold,<br>A sight observers to behold.<br><br>Now, when the days are growing cold,<br>trees have no garment to enfold<br>their skeleton arms all standing bare.<br>I sense them shivering in the air.<br><br>I pity all those trees around,<br>Which I observe, no longer gowned,<br>But all are doomed for winter\u2019s sleep;<br>thought makes me sad, inclined to weep.<br><br>Yet happy times will come, I know,<br>With warmth of sun and golden glow.<br>Then after that cold night of rest,<br>They will appear all freshly dressed.<br><br>We wear most clothes in Winter\u2019s storm,<br>Trees put their clothes on when they\u2019re warm.<br>Trees live a different way from me,<br>I wisely wear appropriately!<br><br>I know a loving Saviour<br>Whose death was on a tree,<br>Giving his life that all may live<br>Throughout eternity.<br><br>His cross was hewn out of a tree,<br>Not clothed in leaves, but blood.<br>Each drop was shed for you, for me.<br>This sinless man on Calvary,<br>Who lived and worked in Galilee,<br>Was buried in Gethsemane.<br>His boundless, wondrous love is free<br>For all to follow Him.<br><br>Believers know, one day they\u2019ll see<br>The one who died on Calvary,<br>Then they\u2019ll proclaim with one accord,<br>In life he\u2019s been my \u201c all in all\u201d,<br>The man who died<br>The crucified<br>Is Christ \u2013 my risen Lord.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Would you like to write a View from the Pews?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We welcome contributions for View from the Pews from anyone who would like to write one. The contractors will be working in and around the church. The church and churchyard will remain open but please take care while using them. Access to the toilets will be kept unlocked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>On Tuesday <\/strong><strong>Prayers for Peace<\/strong> will be said in church at <strong>6 pm<\/strong>. Please do join us and if you would like more information or are willing to lead a session, please contact Mary Hayward (<a href=\"mailto:maryleah@hotmail.co.uk\">maryleah@hotmail.co.uk<\/a>)<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>On Wednesday<\/strong> at <strong>10.00 am<\/strong> there will be a service of <strong>Holy Communion<\/strong> according to the Book of Common Prayer, led by Revd Paul Brown, in church which will be followed by tea, coffee and cake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>After the service<\/strong> the church will be open<strong> from 10.30 am<\/strong> until at least 11.00 am as a <strong>Place of Welcome<\/strong> when anyone who wants to will be welcome to share in the coffee, cake and chat, whether they have been to the service or not. Those attending will receive a warm welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is <strong>NO<\/strong> <strong>Shower Singers<\/strong> this week. It will return after its Easter break on 10th April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At <strong>7 pm<\/strong> on <strong>Wednesday Choir Practice<\/strong> takes place in church. Anyone interested in joining the choir should contact any member of the choir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Next_Sunday\">Sunday 7th April &#8211; Second Sunday of Easter<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>At 10 am <\/strong>there will be a<strong> Pets Service<\/strong>, led by Henry Ibberson and Alan Smith, in church. <strong>Come &amp; join us for our celebration and All Age Worship, followed by coffee, tea and treats! Pets must be accompanied by a well-behaved human !!! <\/strong>There will be no Communion this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Henry and Alan say \u201cIt\u2019s a long time since a Pet&#8217;s Service has been held at St Chad\u2019s, so we have decided this is long overdue! It will be a joyous celebration of all our pets, dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, birds , hamsters\u2026\u2026whatever beloved animal you look after as part of your family, please bring them along.
