The following email, received last month, shows that toiletries are needed as much as food donations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alan Smith<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>The Impact of a Toothbrush<br><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;Thought I\u2019d just like to give you some feedback from a single male who received a food parcel last week from The Well. He rang me just after he had received his parcel, and it was quite an emotional call for both myself and my client.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>He rang me to say thank you, thank you, thank you so much he was telling me about the contents of his food parcel. He said I can\u2019t believe I\u2019ve got a toothbrush, mine had only got a few bristles left on it so thank you thank you thank you.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Treetops-Dental_225x300.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Treetops-Dental_225x300.jpg\" alt=\"Toothbrushes and toothpaste tubes\" class=\"wp-image-11783\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><em>Something as simple as a toothbrush had made such an impact upon this client. He said he felt like someone actually cared.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Keep on doing what you are doing guys and share with your volunteers or newsletter etc. this simple feedback. Sometimes we forget it is the little things that can mean such a lot to a person&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>(Social Prescribing Link Worker)<\/em><br>&nbsp;<br><strong>Could you ask your dental practice for a donation of toothbrush\/toothpaste samples, as in those given to us by Treetops Dental Surgery in the photo.<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/the-well-logo_300.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"178\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/the-well-logo_300.jpg\" alt=\"The Well\" class=\"wp-image-11702\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From Gary &amp; Caroline<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">120,000!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Last month we passed 120,000 service users directly supported in response to a referral to The Well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As each parcel provides at least 10 meals per person, this equates to <strong>one<\/strong><strong> million, two hundred thousand meals,<\/strong><strong> <\/strong>plus the additional toiletries, nappies, pet food and small essential electrical items given when required with the parcels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are in awe at how God has grown this ministry from a small pink collection box in one church nearly eighteen years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We could not have got here without the support of literally countless individuals, churches, schools, businesses and organisations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We continually thank God for each one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you can help us to continue to support so many in need, please look at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewellwolverhampton.co.uk\/six-ways-to-connect\">Connect page<\/a> on our website &lt;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewellwolverhampton.co.uk\/six-ways-to-connect\">https:\/\/www.thewellwolverhampton.co.uk\/six-ways-to-connect<\/a>&gt;.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Would you like to write a View from the Pews?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We welcome contributions for View from the Pews from anyone who would like to write one. Please do join us and if you would like more information or are willing to lead a session, please contact Mary Hayward (<a href=\"mailto:maryleah@hotmail.co.uk\">maryleah@hotmail.co.uk<\/a>)<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>On Wednesday<\/strong> at <strong>10.00 am<\/strong> there will be a service of <strong>Holy Communion<\/strong> according to the Book of Common Prayer, led by Revd Paul Brown, in church which will be followed by tea, coffee and cake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>After the service<\/strong> the church will be open<strong> from 10.30 am<\/strong> until at least 11.00 am as a <strong>Place of Welcome<\/strong> when anyone who wants to will be welcome to share in the coffee, cake and chat, whether they have been to the service or not. Those attending will receive a warm welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At <strong>6 pm<\/strong> the <strong>Pattingham Shower Singers<\/strong> meet in church. All are welcome &#8211; just come and sing and have fun! If you heard the bells ringing and wondered why you now know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Fete\"><a><\/a>Village Fete \u2013 Saturday 6th July, midday onwards<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/fete-header_250x150.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"250\" height=\"149\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/fete-header_250x150.jpg\" alt=\"Village Fete\" class=\"wp-image-11784\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Tempus fugit!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preparations for our fete on 6 July are progressing well, however we need help, particularly with the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>VOLUNTEERS TO MAN STALLS. It doesn\u2019t have to be all afternoon, but please can you spare an hour or two on the day?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>VOLUNTEERS TO MAN THE GATES. Stints of 12-2 and 2-4<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>RAFFLE TICKETS. Donors have been very generous (including cash prizes of \u00a3100 and \u00a350) but we need to get them out there. Please can you sell them to family, friends, anybody you can think of. Books of tickets are available from Dorothy, Graham, Alan or any PCC member\u2026\u2026and don\u2019t forget to buy your own!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BOTTLE STALL. A real money spinner over the years. Please can you get the word out to all you know to help with a bottle or two and bring them to the back of the church. If there are too many to carry we will happily collect!<br>They don\u2019t all need to be expensive bottles of wine etc, water, squash, pop are just as valuable to us.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GENERATOR. Ideally we would like to have the PA in a more central position this year, also to avoid the risk of tripping over wires etc. Do you know of anybody who can loan us a generator?<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>COMPETITIONS.
