The benefits of keeping a church clean are that it helps to improve the quality of the air and limits the transmission of illness, keeping parishioners healthy and allowing them to worship without the fear of becoming sick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">St. Chad\u2019s is very fortunate to have the services of Mandy Allsebrook who cleans the church thoroughly every week and to help share her workload we are organising a \u2018cleaning blitz\u2019 on <strong>Saturday 17th August 2024 between 10.00 am and 12.00 noon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cleaning will involve dusting pews, furniture and windowsills, sweeping floors, and wiping down surfaces in the kitchen area and toilets. The cleaning will not involve any work at height or the cleaning of windows or brasses. Cleaning materials and equipment will be provided on the day; however, volunteers can bring their own brooms, dusters and cloths if they wish! Refreshments will also be available on the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We hugely appreciate any help that volunteers can give and hope they discover more about the interesting fixtures and fittings inside the church and their vulnerabilities. Please do join us and if you would like more information or are willing to lead a session, please contact Mary Hayward (<a href=\"mailto:maryleah@hotmail.co.uk\">maryleah@hotmail.co.uk<\/a>)<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>On Wednesday<\/strong> at <strong>10.00 am<\/strong> there will be a service of <strong>Holy Communion<\/strong> according to the Book of Common Prayer, led by Revd Sue Watson, in church which will be followed by tea, coffee and cake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>After the service<\/strong> the church will be open<strong> from 10.30 am<\/strong> until at least 11.00 am as a <strong>Place of Welcome<\/strong> when anyone who wants to will be welcome to share in the coffee, cake and chat, whether they have been to the service or not. Those attending will receive a warm welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is <strong>NO<\/strong> <strong>Pattingham Shower Singers<\/strong> this week. They are taking their summer break and will next meet on 4th September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At <strong>7 pm<\/strong> on <strong>Wednesday Choir Practice<\/strong> takes place in church. Anyone interested in joining the choir should contact any member of the choir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At <strong>7.30 pm<\/strong> on <strong>Thursday<\/strong> there is a <strong>wedding rehearsal<\/strong> in church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Next_Sunday\">Sunday 4th August &#8211; Tenth Sunday after Trinity<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>At 10 am <\/strong>there will be a <strong>Family S<\/strong><strong>ervice<\/strong>, led by Ken Scott, in church. St Chads Close, Yew Tree Road, Retreat Gardens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the <strong>Trysull Deanery Prayer Diary<\/strong> we pray for:<br>Rural Dean and Lay Chair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"fete\"><a><\/a>Fete<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Art Auction for the Fete raised \u00a3145.75.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thank you to Jo for donating the paintings and to those who bought them &#8211; and those who made bids which were not successful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The profit from the fete is now just over \u00a35,700.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"CC\"><a><\/a>Century Club<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This month&#8217;s Century Club draw will be held on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are currently two vacancies for the Century Club. To be included in this draw a new member will have to pay their subscription by Sunday evening &#8211; a payment of \u00a325 will cover the remaining 5 draws in the subscription year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Well\"><a><\/a>The Well &#8211; the Wolverhampton Food Bank<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/the-well-logo_300.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"178\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/the-well-logo_300.jpg\" alt=\"The Well\" class=\"wp-image-11702\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Well continues to need our donations and prayers.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The box remains at the rear of the church for donations of food and toiletries and the wishing well for donations of cash. Foreign coins can be put into the wishing well (in a separate bag please) and they will also go to help the needy in Wolverhampton and the surrounding area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are extremely grateful for all donations.
