For some years the PCC has been discussing the possibility of employing someone who would be able to grow our ministry with young people and families outside the church community and to encourage them to become more involved with the church so that our church can become a more inclusive, all age community of faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After much planning we are now able to start the process to recruit a Youth and Family Worker. The job is now being advertised. It was posted on Facebook and posters are in various locations in the village. We are sending details to other churches in the area so that they can also advertise it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We need everybody&#8217;s help in spreading the word as widely as possible. If you are on facebook please &#8220;like&#8221; the posts (which means facebook is more likely to show it to others) and share the posts with any groups or individuals which you think might be interested. If you know anyone who might be suitable please tell them about it and encourage them to consider applying. Please also keep this in your prayers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The closing date is not until 14th September so we have time to spread the word. Please do join us and if you would like more information or are willing to lead a session, please contact Mary Hayward (<a href=\"mailto:maryleah@hotmail.co.uk\">maryleah@hotmail.co.uk<\/a>)<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>On Wednesday<\/strong> at <strong>10.00 am<\/strong> there will be a service of <strong>Holy Communion<\/strong> according to the Book of Common Prayer, led by Revd Philip Wootton, in church which will be followed by tea, coffee and cake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>After the service<\/strong> the church will be open<strong> from 10.30 am<\/strong> until at least 11.00 am as a <strong>Place of Welcome<\/strong> when anyone who wants to will be welcome to share in the coffee, cake and chat, whether they have been to the service or not. Those attending will receive a warm welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is <strong>NO<\/strong> <strong>Pattingham Shower Singers<\/strong> this week. They are taking their summer break and will next meet on 4th September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At <strong>7 pm<\/strong> on <strong>Wednesday Choir Practice<\/strong> takes place in church. The successful candidate will work within the Safeguarding Policy of the Diocese of Lichfield of which the church is a part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"CB\"><a><\/a>Cleaning Blitz<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As Clive mentioned in his VIew from the Pews last week there will be a <strong>cleaning blitz<\/strong> in church on <strong>Saturday 17th August between 10.00 am and 12.00 noon.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cleaning will involve dusting pews, furniture and windowsills, sweeping floors, and wiping down surfaces in the kitchen area and toilets. The cleaning will not involve any work at height or the cleaning of windows or brasses. Cleaning materials and equipment will be provided on the day; however, volunteers can bring their own brooms, dusters and cloths if they wish!
