Snippets from the PCC Meeting – 17th September 2024<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The PCC meeting on September 17 was held in church and among matters discussed were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vacancy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the meeting we were looking forward to the Familiarisation Day for the applicant for the post of vicar which is designed to enable the applicant to find out more about the parish and the post before the interview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the interview, however, the applicant decided that the role was not for her at the present time although she did express her gratitude to all those she met and commented on how friendly, caring and helpful everyone was.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Philip Sims, the PCC chairman, has written a statement which is here<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Follow the Star<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A group which includes Mike Coope, Jill and Martin Parker, Chrissie Ringrose and Debbie Sims, has been looking at arranging an event prior to Christmas to take the place of the Christmas Tree Festival which has been held several times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They have come up with Follow the Star, which will be an event over three days in December with lots of stars in the church. Organisations and individuals are asked to make a star which will be displayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We look forward to different interpretations of the theme as Pattingham’s residents show their creative sides. More details can be found elsewhere in this magazine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senior Responders<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the success of the Young Responders course which was held in February, a first aid course aimed at retired people is being held on Thursday, November 7 at 2.30 pm in the Village Hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will include CPR, wound care, choking relief, burns treatment, farming injuries, using a defibrillator and other problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
