Snippets from the PCC Meeting – 21st January 2025<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Among the matters discussed at the PCC meeting on 21st January were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pattingham Past and Present<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As one of our actions as a Dementia Friendly Church we are holding an informal “tea and cake” on Saturday, March 15 in church at 3pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will include a presentation taking a look at Patting ham Past and Present, which will include how the church has changed through the ages and other historical facts which will be of interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will allow parishioners to reminisce or to find out how the village has changed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Century Club<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Century Club continues to raise significant finds for the church. After the annual renewals in December there were a total of 96 members. The PCC is grateful to all those members for their support for the church and to Alan Smith for managing the club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Electoral Roll<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The church electoral roll needs to be completely revised every six years and that will happen this year. Those already on the roll will not be included on the new roll automatically and must submit a new completed application form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyone who wants to be on the new roll will have submit an application by Monday, April 21. For more information, see Page 6<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lent \/ Holy Week \/ Easter services<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Local retired clergy continue to support us by taking services when they are able to do so. We have clergy for the evening Communion services on Ash Wednesday and Maundy Thursday and for the afternoon service on Good Friday, so we will be able to hold all the usual services in Lent and Holy Week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Easter Day, April 20, there will be a Communion Service in the morning, which will involve the Youth Group and a service in the evening, which will be Ken Scott’s last service as a Reader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Easter card competition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following on the success of the competitions for children at the school to design the front of the Easter and Christmas cards last year it was decided to hold a competition open to everyone for the front of this year’s Easter card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Details have been published in ChadNet and on the website and the closing date is Sunday, March 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
