It has a golden dress<br>worthy of feeling one\u2019s caress!<br><br>It is not welcome in the house,<br>bravely it shows itself without.<br>Then let it in some corner stay<br>in its own company\u2019s bright array.<br><br>I know it\u2019s not among the best<br>So let it find a place to rest &#8211;<br>it gives some children such delight.<br>Then let it live \u2013 it has the right.<br><br>One day its gold will turn to white<br>and then for it will come the night.<br>But first allow child\u2019s chubby hand<br>to pluck it gently from the land.<br><br>To them in their imagination<br>to know the time is their intention.<br>And so they blow \u2013 with sweet delight<br>they count the time \u2013 it\u2019s never right!<br><br>Realising not the seeds they\u2019ve blown<br>will fall on soil somewhere unknown.<br>And when the winter months are o\u2019er,<br>they\u2019ll grow again just as before.<br><br>For some, their life on earth has sped,<br>just like ourselves, when all is said.<br>But those who truly seek the Lord,<br>new life for them begins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And earthly things will be no more,<br>far greater joys doth lie before.<br>To be with Jesus, face to face,<br>Knowing his love and saved by grace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Would you like to write a View from the Pews?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We welcome contributions for View from the Pews from anyone who would like to write one. For matters which would normally be dealt with by the Vicar the churchwardens are the first point of contact. The Vicarage phone (01902 700257) is redirected to the churchwardens. When they are not available a message can be left on the voicemail and they will return the call when they are available. Please do join us and if you would like more information or are willing to lead a session, please contact Mary Hayward (<a href=\"mailto:maryleah@hotmail.co.uk\">maryleah@hotmail.co.uk<\/a>)<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>On Wednesday<\/strong> at\u00a0<strong>10.00 am<\/strong> there will be a service of <strong>Holy Communion<\/strong> according to the Book of Common Prayer, led by Revd Sue Watson, in church which will be followed by tea, coffee and cake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>After the service<\/strong> the church will be open<strong> from 10.30 am<\/strong> until at least 11.00 am as a <strong>Place of Welcome<\/strong> when anyone who wants to will be welcome to share in the coffee, cake and chat, whether they have been to the service or not. Those attending will receive a warm welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On <strong>Wednesday<\/strong> at <strong>12 noon Who&#8217;s for Lunch?<\/strong> is held in the <strong>Village Hall<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At <strong>6 pm<\/strong> on <strong>Wednesday<\/strong> the <strong>Pattingham Shower Singers<\/strong> meet in church. All are welcome &#8211; just come and sing and have fun! Anyone interested in joining the choir should contact Martin Fox or any member of the choir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On <strong>Thursday<\/strong> at <strong>12.30 pm<\/strong> there is a <strong>Lent Lunch<\/strong> at the home of Sue Riches. If you are attending please sign up on the sheet at the back of the church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Next_Sunday\">Sunday 30th March &#8211; Mothering Sunday \/ Fourth Sunday of Lent<br><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>At 10 am <\/strong>there will be a service of <strong>Holy Communion for Mothering Sunday<\/strong>, led by Revd Sue Watson, in church. Mothering Sunday posies will be distributed.\u00a0<strong>Coffee, tea and biscuits will be available after the service.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the <strong>Parish Prayer Diary<\/strong> we pray for those who:<br>Those who teach and look after children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the <strong>Trysull Deanery Prayer Diary<\/strong> we pray for:<br>Clergy and Lay Ministers in the Deanery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"ER\"><a><\/a>Church Electoral Roll<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Every six years a completely new Church Electoral Roll has to be prepared and this is one of those years. The process is now underway and the formal notice is displayed in the church porch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everyone who wishes to be on the roll will need to complete a form which needs to be returned by the deadline of Monday 21st April.
