{"id":12741,"date":"2025-04-04T19:33:24","date_gmt":"2025-04-04T19:33:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/?page_id=12741"},"modified":"2025-04-04T19:38:07","modified_gmt":"2025-04-04T19:38:07","slug":"holy-week-and-easter-2025","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/services\/holy-week-and-easter-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Holy Week and Easter 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Services for Holy Week and Easter 2025<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Join us as we mark the events leading up the Our Lord\u2019s Crucifixion and then His Resurrection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Palm Sunday \u2013 13th April<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em><strong>Our Lord\u2019s entry into Jerusalem riding on a donkey<\/strong><\/em>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>10.00 am Family Communion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>6.30 pm Evening Service in the Iona style<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tuesday of Holy Week \u2013 15th April<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>6.00 pm Prayers for Peace\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Wednesday of Holy Week \u2013 16th April<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>10.00 am&nbsp; Holy Communion\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a said service of about 45 minutes using the Book of Common Prayer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>followed by \u201cDrop In\u201d for tea\/coffee and cake<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Maundy Thursday \u2013 17th April<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em><strong>The Last Supper and Our Lord\u2019s betryal and arrest<\/strong><\/em>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>7.30 pm Holy Communion and Stripping of the Altars\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a service of Holy Communion with Hymns using Common Worship<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>to commemorate the Last Supper and the Institution of the Eucharist<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>followed by the removal of the hangings and decorations leaving the altars bare for Good Friday<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Good Friday \u2013 18th April<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em><strong>the Crucifixion and Death of Jesus<\/strong><\/em>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>10.00 am Building the Easter Garden\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>for children and parents followed by an Easter Egg Hunt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2.00 pm Final Hour at the Cross\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a service of hymns, prayers and meditation to mark the last hour of Our Lord\u2019s crucifixion<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Easter Day \u2013 20th April<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><em>The Resurrection of Jesus<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>He is Risen! Alleluia!<\/em><\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>10.00 am Communion Service for Easter\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the service will include parts led by the Youth Group.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>followed by coffee and a chat<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>6.30 pm Songs of Praise for Easter\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All services will be held in St. Chad\u2019s Church, Pattingham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Easter card<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A card has been delivered to all homes in the parish which includes details of the services and a message from the Chairman of the PCC. There was a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/information\/easter-card-competition-2025\/\">competition<\/a> to produce the image for the front which was won by Cath Fox.
