Our wait is over. This weekend we look forward to Bishop Tim coming to Pattingham to lead the special service (called a Collation), to celebrate and officially welcome our new vicar Rev’d Merry to St. Chad’s. Please do come to the service at 4 pm on Sunday 10th August (arrive early as we expect a full church!) and join us afterwards in the Village Hall for light refreshments.

Rev’d Merry has already moved into the village with her family and over the months of August and September she will gradually get to know everyone. The arrival of our new vicar means we begin a new chapter in the life of St. Chad’s church, when we shall worship and pray together and continue to work throughout the community in the light of Christ. We have worked together over the last four years and shared some joyous times. We look forward to doing more with you, we are strong together and every individual person is called to help as they can. So, whether it is one hour a week or one hour a month, talk with us and let us continue our work, caring for each other, showing kindness, helping people overcome loneliness and being “good neighbours” in the name of Christ!

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart…and love your neighbour as you love yourself…” (Matthew 22:37)

Welcome Rev’d Merry, Lee and Beatrice!

God Bless,

Dorothy Steel

PS Remember to send in your request for a favourite hymn for our “Hymns and Pimm’s” event at 4 pm on Saturday 6th September to oandg@pattinghamchurch.org.uk .
