I like the famous motto Carpe Diem, literally, \u201cseize the day\u201d, because today won\u2019t come again.&nbsp; What does God want me to do today?&nbsp; How shall I make the most of it? Who am I going to meet?<br><br>It\u2019s evening time as I write this, and today\u2019s Morning Glories are shrivelled up, but by tomorrow there\u2019ll be a new batch, and a new day for us all. Please do join us and if you would like more information or are willing to lead a session, please contact Mary Hayward (<a href=\"mailto:maryleah@hotmail.co.uk\">maryleah@hotmail.co.uk<\/a>)<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>On Wednesday<\/strong> at&nbsp;<strong>10.00 am<\/strong> there will be a service of <strong>Holy Communion<\/strong> according to the Book of Common Prayer, led by the Vicar, in church which will be followed by tea, coffee and cake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>After the service<\/strong> the church will be open<strong> from 10.30 am<\/strong> until at least 11.00 am as a <strong>Place of Welcome<\/strong> when anyone who wants to will be welcome to share in the coffee, cake and chat, whether they have been to the service or not. Those attending will receive a warm welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On <strong>Wednesday<\/strong> at <strong>12 noon Who&#8217;s for Lunch?<\/strong> is held in the <strong>Village Hall<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At <strong>12.30 pm<\/strong> on <strong>Wednesday<\/strong> the <strong>funeral<\/strong> of <strong>Florence Horton<\/strong> takes place in church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is <strong>NO<\/strong> <strong>Pattingham Shower Singers<\/strong> this week. They are taking their summer break and will next meet on 3rd September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At <strong>7 pm<\/strong> on <strong>Wednesday Choir Practice<\/strong> takes place in church. Anyone interested in joining the choir should contact Martin Fox or any member of the choir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wednesday <\/strong>is the <strong>copy date<\/strong> for the September magazine. Music will be provided by Martin Fox and friends.<br><br>We look forward to seeing lots of familiar faces and lots of new ones. If you sent an email before then please send it again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<br class=clear>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"SF\">Scarecrow Festival &#8211; 26th to 28th September 2025<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Pattingham Scarecrow Festival<\/strong> is taking place from Friday 26th to Sunday 28th September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Registration\u00a0<\/strong>for those making scarecrows <strong>closed<\/strong> on Friday\u00a022nd August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At 7.30 pm on <strong>Friday 26th September<\/strong> there will be a <strong>Barn Dance<\/strong> in the Village Hall. Tickets are just \u00a315 each which includes a Hog Roast as well as a fantastic night of country music and dance. This year some will also go to the Ukraine Refugee Centre. A list of produce&nbsp;which would be particularly welcome&nbsp;will be published in the near future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the meantime please make a note of the date in your diary and be as generous as you are able.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Gaza\"><a><\/a>Gaza<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You will recall that&nbsp;Alan Smith wrote a View from the Pews&nbsp;in ChadNet for 22nd June about The Fast for Gaza. He wrote to our MP, Mike Wood, and has had a reply which he thought may be of interest to readers of ChadNet. She sent the following message:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When I retired 4 years ago, I asked to continue receiving ChadNet during the interregnum. Now that you have a new Vicar it is appropriate that I cut my remaining ties and allow Merry to take on the joyful responsibility of caring for the community of Pattingham and Patshull.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I will continue to keep you all in my thoughts and prayers, but from a distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But if anyone is ever travelling in this part of the world &#8211; the Wirral &#8211; you are always welcome to contact me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>God bless you all.&nbsp;<br>Reverend Maureen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"URC\"><a><\/a>Ukraine Refugee Centre<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Mary Hayward sent this message after she took donations to the Ukraine Refugee Centre on Friday:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As usual my boot was full of your kind donations. The Manager and volunteers are overwhelmed by your generosity!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I asked if there was anything particular they were short of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ladies clothes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Toiletries (including sanitary products)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>However all household items and children\u2019s items are still very welcome.
