The service will start at 4 pm prompt and last a maximum of 90 minutes. All ages, 0 \u2013 100+, are welcome. There is no charge but donations to the church and to cover costs are welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For your favourite hymns to be considered for inclusion, please send suggestions to <a href=\"mailto:oandg@pattinghamchurch.org.uk\">oandg@pattinghamchurch.org.uk<\/a> as soon as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hymns and Pimm&#8217;s in 2025<\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/hymns-and-pimms_2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"268\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/hymns-and-pimms_2.png\" alt=\"Hymns and PIMM's\" class=\"wp-image-13288\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/hymns-and-pimms_2.png 268w, https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/hymns-and-pimms_2-214x300.png 214w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 268px) 100vw, 268px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Saturday 6th September 2025 over 80 people came into church to sing a selection of favourite hymns and drink a glass (or two) of Pimm&#8217;s (or something softer).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The musical accompaniment was provided by Martin Fox, our Organist, and his friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Martin Fox &#8211; piano and bass guitar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cath Fox &#8211; flute and bass guitar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Peter Nicholls &#8211; guitar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>John Fellows &#8211; organ and piano<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Merry Smith &#8211; violin<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kearon Myatt &#8211; singing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">People had been encouraged to send in their favourite hymns beforehand and 15 of those were sung. Those not used may included in a future event and may well be included during services in the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These hymns were sung:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Colours of Day<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I the Lord of Sea and Sky ( Here I am Lord)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shine Jesus Shine ( Lord the Light of Your Love)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One more step<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lord of the Dance ( I Danced in the morning)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>He\u2019s got the whole world<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Guide me o thou great Redeemer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>O Jesus I Have Promised  ( Tune &#8211; Hatherop Castle)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bless the Lord ( Ten Thousand Reasons)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This little light of mine<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Oh for a thousand tongues to sing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Give me joy in my heart<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>My Lighthouse<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A new commandment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Were you there?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those hymns which were requested but not included were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Praise my Soul the King of Heaven<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Battle Hymn of the Republic<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Amazing Grace<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Glorious Things of Thee are Spoken<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I Vow to Thee my Country<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Autumn Days<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Who put the colours in the rainbow<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All Things Bright and Beautiful<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bind us together<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make me a channel of your peace<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Jerusalem<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kumbaya<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Abba Father<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lord Jesus Christ<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Just as I am<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A raffle was held which together with other donations raised \u00a3357 for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.havenrefuge.org.uk\/\">The Haven Refuge<\/a> in Wolverhampton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hymns and Pimm&#8217;s in 2026 Saturday 5th September at 4 pm in St Chad&#8217;s Church, Pattingham Another opportunity to praise the Lord by singing your favourite hymns whilst enjoying a glass of Pimm\u2019s (or non alcoholic alternative).
