There have been problems sending to some subscribers so we have decided to use a system called&nbsp;MailerLite. We easily forget that our heavenly Father can assist us in meeting our daily challenges with serenity and calm assurance. We need the quiet confidence in God and a peaceful resting in his eternal love that is reflected in this beautiful text by John Greenleaf Whittier, a American Quaker poet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018A good hymn is the best use to which poetry can be devoted, though I do not claim to have succeeded in writing one\u2019 wrote Whittier. His editors have since produced seventy-five hymns from his poetry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John Greenleaf Whittier\u2019s life expressed the steadfast rest in his heavenly Father\u2019s love that these words suggest. As you read, decide how to let Him guide you and give you peace in this hectic world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Dear Lord and Father of mankind, forgive our fev\u2019rish ways!<br>Reclothe us in our rightful mind; in purer lives Thy service find,<br>in deeper rev\u2019rence praise. Meet at the church for a walk around Hamley Woods for about an hour, returning to the church for refreshments. Those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. If you are to take part, please email Tracey at <a href=\"mailto:dfc@pattinghamchurch.org.uk\">dfc@pattinghamchurch.org.uk<\/a>, so that we can organise sufficient refreshments, to be available in church. This is not a week when the group meets but some members of&nbsp;the group will be in church to say prayers. Anyone is welcome to join them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>On Wednesday<\/strong> at <strong>10.00 am<\/strong> there will be a service of <strong>Holy Communion<\/strong> according to the Book of Common Prayer, led by the vicar, in church which will be followed by tea, coffee and cake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>After the service<\/strong> the church will be open<strong> from 10.30 am<\/strong> until at least 11.00 am as a <strong>Place of Welcome<\/strong> when anyone who wants to will be welcome to share in the coffee, cake and chat, whether they have been to the service or not. Those attending will receive a warm welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At <strong>6 pm<\/strong> on <strong>Wednesday&nbsp;<\/strong>the <strong>Pattingham Shower Singers<\/strong> meet in church. All are welcome &#8211; just come and sing and have fun! If you need more&nbsp;information, contact Alix at <a href=\"mailto:pattinghamshowersingers@gmail.com\">pattinghamshowersingers@gmail.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At <strong>7 pm<\/strong> on <strong>Wednesday Choir Practice<\/strong> takes place in church. Anyone interested in joining the choir should contact Martin Fox or any member of the choir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On <strong>Friday<\/strong> from <strong>10 am to 12 noon<\/strong> the <strong>Home&nbsp;Instead <\/strong><strong>Memory Caf\u00e9<\/strong> is being held at the <strong>Village&nbsp;Hall<\/strong>. These are free informal sessions designed for individuals living with dementia and their carers to meet in a relaxed environment. Enjoy simple, engaging activities, while connecting with others who understand the challenges of dementia.&nbsp;No need to book. Just pop along.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Next_Sunday\">Sunday 19th April &#8211; Third Sunday of Easter<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>At 10 am <\/strong>there will be a <strong>service led by the Youth Group<\/strong> in church. This will be followed by a <strong>short service of Holy Communion,<\/strong> led by the Vicar, to which you are all most welcome. <strong>Coffee, tea and biscuits will be available after the service.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the <strong>Parish Prayer Diary<\/strong> we pray for those who live and work in:<br>Wolverhampton Road, Newgate, Merchant Close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the <strong>Trysull Deanery Prayer Diary<\/strong> we pray for:<br>Clergy and Lay Ministers in the Deanery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"PA\">Appointment of Parish Administrator<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>During the period of interregnum the PCC approved the appointment of a Parish Administrator but decided to await the appointment of a Vicar so that they could have input into the proposed role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Merry approves of such an appointment and we wish to achieve this without delay.
