Volunteering can be rewarding in many ways \u2014 it brings people together, creates new friendships, helps us learn new skills and, most importantly, makes Pattingham an even better place in which to live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">St Chad\u2019s Church is at the heart of our community and is keen to develop and support activities that bring benefits to local people. To do this, we need the support of volunteers who can offer their time, skills or simply a willingness to lend a helping hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whether you have an hour to spare occasionally or would like to become more involved, <strong>your contribution can make a real difference<\/strong>. See below for a list of items which they are asking for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the <strong>Parish Prayer Diary<\/strong> we pray for:<br>Farmers and those who are involved in producing food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the <strong>Trysull Deanery Prayer Diary<\/strong> we pray for:<br>St Michael &amp; All Angels, Himley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"This_week\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">This week<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The church will be open every day<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong> Look out for the &#8220;church open&#8221; sign outside the porch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is <strong>not<\/strong> a week when the <strong>Prayers for Peace<\/strong> group meets but some members of the group will be in church on <strong>Tuesday<\/strong> at <strong>6 pm<\/strong> to say prayers. Anyone is welcome to join them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>On Wednesday<\/strong> at <strong>10.00 am<\/strong> there will be a service of <strong>Holy Communion<\/strong> according to the Book of Common Prayer, led by Revd Paul Brown, in church which will be followed by tea, coffee and cake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>After the service<\/strong> the church will be open <strong>from 10.30 am<\/strong> until at least 11.00 am as a <strong>Place of Welcome<\/strong> when anyone who wants to will be welcome to share in the coffee, cake and chat, whether they have been to the service or not. Those attending will receive a warm welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At <strong>12 noon<\/strong> there is a <strong>Memorial Service<\/strong> for <strong>Pamela Hatton<\/strong> in church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At <strong>6 pm<\/strong> on <strong>Wednesday<\/strong> the <strong>Pattingham Shower Singers<\/strong> meet in church. Anyone interested in joining the choir should contact Martin Fox or any member of the choir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At <strong>2.30 pm<\/strong> on <strong>Saturday<\/strong> the <strong>wedding of David Sampson and Ann Walker&nbsp;<\/strong>takes place in church.&nbsp;All are welcome to come and join them for this&nbsp;happy, informal <strong>WEDDING CEREMONY<\/strong>.&nbsp;Dave and Ann&nbsp;hope to see you there!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"Next_Sunday\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sunday 4th October &#8211; Eighteenth Sunday after Trinity<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>At 10 am<\/strong> there there will be a <strong>service for&nbsp;God&#8217;s Creation<\/strong>,&nbsp;led by Henry Ibberson and Alan Smith,&nbsp;in church.&nbsp;It will be a thanksgiving service for all our pets. There will <strong>not<\/strong> be a Communion service.&nbsp;Come and join us for this wonderful celebration &#8211; and bring your pets! The service will be for all the family to enjoy. If your pet is shy, or too big or small to come &#8211; bring a photo!&nbsp;<strong>Coffee, tea and biscuits will be available after the service.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At <strong>1 pm<\/strong> the <strong>Baptism<\/strong> of <strong>Ruby Tomes<\/strong> takes place in church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>From 2 pm to 4 pm&nbsp;<\/strong>in the <strong>Village Hall Committee Room&nbsp;<\/strong>the<strong>&nbsp;process of attaching the poppies<\/strong> to the netting for the&nbsp;<strong>Poppies Installation<\/strong> will begin. If anyone would like to assist in this process your help would be gratefully appreciated and of course refreshments will be available (please contact Tracey on&nbsp;07084 039330 to confirm either by text or voicemail).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At <strong>6.30 pm<\/strong> there will be a <strong>service in the Iona style<\/strong>, led by Iain Coleman, in church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the <strong>Parish Prayer Diary<\/strong> we pray for those who live and work in:<br>High Street, Meadow View, Broadwell Lane, Old Smithy Close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the <strong>Trysull Deanery Prayer Diary<\/strong> we pray for:<br>St Michael &amp; All Angels, Tettenhall Regis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"CA\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Currency appeal<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The heatwaves are over and holiday memories are fading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will recall that two years ago our currency appeal raised over \u00a3160 for the Well food bank. If you don&#8217;t have a box some are available at the back of the church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"URC\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ukraine Refugee Centre<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Mary Hayward sent the following message after her latest visit taking the donations to the Ukraine Refugee Centre.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hello everyone<br>Today we filled two cars with your wonderful donations to the Ukraine Centre! A huge thank you to my daughter Anna for helping to load up the cars. We now have 168 subscribers but there may still&nbsp; be some people who are not aware of it and would wish to receive it. The weekly bulletin for each Sunday will normally be sent on the preceding Friday or Saturday. Additional bulletins may be sent if required.
