PCC Member of the Month: Carol Broxton<\/h1>\n\n\n\n
This is the latest in our series of pen portraits of members of St Chad’s Parochial Church Council and features Carol Broxton<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Former fete organiser, councillor \u2014 and member of many committees<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\nI\njoined the PCC ten years ago and during my time I have done a lot of\nvarious volunteering duties for the Church and still do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nI was\nsole organiser of the Church Fete and I did six in a row altogether:\nI was pleased with its success, year on year. It was hard work but\ngreat fun. After the last one I stepped down due to health issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nBefore\nI began organising the Fete I was with a small group running the\nAugust Fun Day on the playing field, an event which lasted for four\nyears. From 2011 to 2015 I did a full term of office as a councillor\non Pattingham and Patshull Council. I am on the over-65s\nChristmas dinner committee and the Village Hall committee and, before\nit ceased to be a separate body, I was on the Playing Fields\ncommittee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nI was\nalso on the Pattingham Club committee for five years and when I look\nback I seem to have spent a lot of my time on committees \u2014 good\nbad or indifferent!! \u2014 but helpful for the Church and village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nI\nhelped out for more than three years as one of the team with the\nweekly youth club in the Village hall on Friday nights. Sadly it is\nno more which is such a shame. I also helped out at the monthly bingo\nsessions in the village hall on Monday evenings until that also\nceased. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nI\nhave spent most of my life in Pattingham, living here from the age\nof 16, leaving for a time and then coming back again.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
