At its meeting on 8th November the PCC discussed:-<\/h4>\n

Carillon<\/strong>
\nThere had appeared to be a problem with the carillon, so Smiths of Derbyshire were asked to attend. They found no fault with the carillon, and as there had been some recent electrical work done, they thought that the fault may have coincided with that.<\/p>\n

\n

Finance<\/strong>
\nOur treasurer Graham Tritton was happy to report that he hopes that we should break even this year.
\nIn the wake of the devastation caused by Hurricane Matthew in Haiti the PCC decided to send a donation of \u00a3525.75 to Action Aid, to go towards the provision of anti malaria kits. This represents the sum still available from the fund set aside for this year\u2019s charitable donations.
\nThe PCC agreed that the cover price of Parish News should stay the same at \u00a37.50p per year. As there has been no increase in advertising charges for some considerable time, it was agreed that there should be a 10% increase in that charge.<\/p>\n

Heating<\/strong>
\nDavid Challinor, as chair of the Fabric Committee, reported to the PCC that, having examined the work done so far by the PCC, they agree with the PCC\u2019s opinions regarding the proposed new heating system, with the exception of the type of control to be used and some revisions in the chancel, where there is a problem of down draughts. A group from the Fabric Committee had visited St James\u2019s church Fulmer to see a heating system installed by one of the contractors who gave us an estimate. They spoke to members of the congregation, who praised the standard of work and commented on their efficiency, speed of installation and the highly satisfactory current heating in the church. The Fabric Committee aim to present a revised application to the Diocesan Advisory Committee as soon as possible.
\nAs many of you will be aware, the current boiler has broken down. This is due to a fault with the thermostat. We have been advised that the part required is now obsolete. We are pursuing this as quickly as possible.<\/p>\n
