Among the items discussed at the September meeting of the PCC were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Improvements to the West End of the church. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n We are developing\nour plans to improve the area by the West Door (the door at the back\nof the church under the tower) and hope to have some plans ready for\nconsultation soon. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n We are also looking at the area by the Adam and Eve window (which is between the west door and the choir vestry) with a view\nto providing storage facilities of a good standard, which would\nsignificantly improve the appearance of the area. It would also help\nto show off the window, which is one of the better ones in the\nchurch. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n We are still\nintending to put forward plans to reorder the north aisle but those\nwill require more detailed work and then consultation before they\nwill be ready. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n Life Events.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Church of England is providing resources to assist parishes in developing links with those who come to church for what are often called Life Events: baptisms, weddings and\nfunerals. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n We have reviewed what we currently do before and after these events and whether there is anything we can do better. We have some\nideas particularly about how we may be able to follow up after a\nbaptism or a wedding to keep in touch. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ecology and Climate Change.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n ECO Church is an award scheme for churches of all denominations in England and Wales who want to demonstrate that they care for God\u2019s earth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n It will help us \u201cgo green\u201d in all areas of our church life, from worship to building management, outreach to personal lifestyle and we\nhave set up a small working group to seek accreditation under the\nscheme. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Bishops wrote to all parishes about Climate Action Day (on September 20) and the wider issues relating to climate change.
