Pattingham and Patshull Parish Magazine was first published in January 1869. Information about the early issues can be found on the Parish Magazine history<\/a> page. It is now called Pattingham and Patshull Parish News and is published monthly. The annual cost for those delivered is \u00a310. It is also available in church at \u00a31 per copy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The editor is always keen to receive interesting articles and features. They can be sent to him by email at parishnews@pattinghamchurch.org.uk or left in the box at the back of the church. The latest date to receive copy for the following magazine is on the church calendar<\/a> – it is normally sometime in the middle of the preceding month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is with deep sadness that we share the news that Mike Moss, who has been our Parish News editor for around 15 years, died on Sunday evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mike was a stalwart of our Parish community: a dependable and dedicated presence who coped patiently with every demand and delay, always striving to meet his copy date and ensure that the magazine was ready for distribution each month. He was a true professional, regularly suggesting ways to improve the publication and make it engaging and appealing to its readers. We owe him a tremendous debt of gratitude for the care, commitment and pride he brought to this work over so many years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is never easy to follow someone of Mike\u2019s friendly and accommodating nature, combined with such diligence, determination and attention to detail. These were qualities that made him so well-suited to the role and ones upon which his readers came to rely. We send our sincere condolences to Rosemary and to all of Mike\u2019s family and loved ones. We only regret that we did not have the opportunity to express fully our admiration and gratitude to him before he died. Mike remained resolute to the end, and we will be forever thankful for the wonderful legacy he leaves us in the Parish News; a magazine enjoyed by many, and one which reaches far beyond the Church for which it was first created.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we begin to look ahead, we are pleased to share that a new editor has been appointed. Jess Robins has kindly agreed to succeed Mike in this role. Jess holds a Master of Arts degree in Fashion Branding and Communication and has a passion for graphic design, along with valuable software and publishing experience which she has already used to support businesses in Pattingham and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jess will be taking up the role immediately. However, as an additional mark of respect for Mike and his exemplary service, the Church Council has decided there will be no magazine published in March. This will also allow Jess time to settle into the role and prepare future editions. We hope you will understand this decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following Mike will not be easy, but we have every confidence in Jess and assure her of our support and encouragement as she begins this important ministry. The Parish News remains not only an important part of Church life but also a valued means of communication for the whole village community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The magazine was revamped in 2017, with a colour cover and some colour inside. If you haven’t seen it lately have a look and take out a subscription.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the coronavirus pandemic publication of the monthly Parish News<\/strong> was suspended after the April 2020 issue. Publication resumed with the August 2020 issue. How to order your own copy of the Pattingham Parish News <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s easy…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just send an email to magazine.subs@pattinghamchurch.org.uk or call Jill or Martin Parker on 01902 700755 leaving your name, address, a contact number and your order request and they will arrange for a regular copy to be distributed right to your door by a group of volunteers covering most homes in the parish (if your home is not covered then it can be posted at additional charge, or you can arrange to collect your copy), all for the cost of just \u00a310.00 for a year\u2019s subscription. The subscription year ends in January, with renewal due at the February edition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you start a subscription during the subscription year you will have to pay the amount due up to the January edition at \u00a31 per month.<\/p>\n\n\n

The September 2017 magazine<\/strong> was distributed free of charge to all homes in the parish. It contained information about various things which were happening in September and later in the year – the Scarecrow Festival, a concert by Chad Singers, Flicks in the Sticks, Live and Local, a Fishing Competition, the monthly buffet lunch and the Drama Group’s production in November. There was also an article from the Vicar and Churchwardens about ways to improve the Lady Chapel<\/a>. It also contained the regular features – the Vicar’s letter<\/a>, the diary for the month, snippets from the PCC<\/a>, news from the school as well as from our District Councillor.
