The PCC\u2019s meeting on 28th<\/sup> April was held over Zoom due to the lockdown restrictions. This was a new experience for everyone but we did manage to conduct the business of the meeting. Among the items discussed were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n The effect of the pandemic<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Since the previous meeting in March the restrictions imposed due the coronavirus pandemic had caused many things to be suspended. The church building was closed, not only for public worship but also for private prayer; Easter cards were not distributed; the April magazine was distributed but further publication suspended; the Century Club draws were suspended; the Annual Church Meeting was postponed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n However a number of new initiatives had been started. Online services were being recorded and made available on YouTube and through the website. Maureen was saying daily prayer live on Facebook. ChadNet \u2013 the eBulletin of St Chad\u2019s Church, Pattingham with Patshull \u2013 was being emailed weekly to 63 subscribers. A Dial a Service phone line had been set up which allowed people to phone and listen to the recorded service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Lady Chapel reordering<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The diocesan Chancellor has given permission for the introduction of the votive candle stand in the Lady Chapel. However he was not prepared to give permission for the removal of the pews from the Lady Chapel as he did not approve of the proposed replacement chairs. We have identified a different chair which we hope will be approved and that this project can be finished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Eco <\/strong>C<\/strong>hurch<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n We have been awarded a bronze level award under the Eco Church scheme, which is an award scheme for churches of all denominations in England and Wales who want to demonstrate that they care for God\u2019s earth.
