In this parish we usually hold our Harvest Thanksgiving on the last Sunday in September. The church is usually decorated with items of harvest produce and St Chad’s School usually hold a service in church on the preceding Friday when they bring gifts of tinned and packet food which are then donated to the local food bank. None of that was possible this year because of the restrictions due to the covid pandemic. This year we held a Harvest Thanksgiving Service on the Playing Field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    76 people attended the service during which the choir sang “Come, ye thankful people, come”, “O Lord, my God, when I in awesome wonder” and “We plough the fields and scatter”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The lessons were read by two of our farmers and the service was taken by the Vicar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
