The PCC\u2019s meeting on 1st<\/sup> September was the fifth one which we had held over Zoom due to the lockdown restrictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Worship<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n While we are now holding services in church there are limitations in place and we know that many of our congregation are not able to attend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It appears that that situation is likely to continue for some time so we expect to continue with Worship on the Web available online as well as in church at 10 am on a Sunday. We are planning to hold a Harvest service on the playing field on Sunday 27th<\/sup> September and we are also hoping to be able to hold a Remembrance Service outside on Remembrance Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The PCC is also thinking about Christmas services: at the moment it looks as though some or all of those will also be recorded services of Worship on the Web which will also be shown in church. Further details will be available nearer the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Finances<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n As the restrictions are continuing for longer than we had previously expected the deficit this year is now likely to be more than \u00a325,000. This is principally due to a lack of fundraising events, loss of fees for weddings and funerals and a reduction in collections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Regular planned giving (standing orders, Giving Direct and yellow envelopes) seems not to have dropped dramatically, particularly as some people have changed to standing orders or Giving Direct from other forms of giving. We hope are<\/p>\n\n\n\n ECO Church Award<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n We have attained the silver level of the ECO Church award. We were awarded the bronze level in March and will now work towards reaching the Gold level award, which will no doubt be quite challenging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The vision of the Eco Church scheme is to create a vast network of churches as local centres of creation care in the community \u2013 shining beacons of hope for a brighter environmental future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Annual meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Annual Church Meeting will be held after the morning service on Sunday 11th<\/sup> October.
