Almighty God,
in Christ you make all things new:
transform the poverty of our nature by the riches of your grace,
and in the renewal of our lives
make known your heavenly glory;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,

3 Now the boy Samuel was ministering to the Lord under Eli. The word of the Lord was rare in those days; visions were not widespread.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
2<\/sup> At that time Eli, whose eyesight had begun to grow dim so that he could not see, was lying down in his room; 3<\/sup>the lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the temple of the Lord, where the ark of God was. 4<\/sup>Then the Lord called, \u2018Samuel! Samuel!\u2019 and he said, \u2018Here I am!\u2019 5<\/sup>and ran to Eli, and said, \u2018Here I am, for you called me.\u2019 But he said, \u2018I did not call; lie down again.\u2019 So he went and lay down. 6<\/sup>The Lord called again, \u2018Samuel!\u2019 Samuel got up and went to Eli, and said, \u2018Here I am, for you called me.\u2019 But he said, \u2018I did not call, my son; lie down again.\u2019 7<\/sup>Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord, and the word of the Lord had not yet been revealed to him. 8<\/sup>The Lord called Samuel again, a third time. And he got up and went to Eli, and said, \u2018Here I am, for you called me.\u2019 Then Eli perceived that the Lord was calling the boy. 9<\/sup>Therefore Eli said to Samuel, \u2018Go, lie down; and if he calls you, you shall say, \u201cSpeak, Lord, for your servant is listening.\u201d \u2019 So Samuel went and lay down in his place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 10<\/sup> Now the Lord came and stood there, calling as before, \u2018Samuel! Samuel!\u2019 And Samuel said, \u2018Speak, for your servant is listening.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n John 1.43\u201351<\/p>\n\n\n\n 43<\/sup>\u00a0The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, \u2018Follow me.\u2019 44<\/sup>Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. 45<\/sup>Philip found Nathanael and said to him, \u2018We have found him about whom Moses in the law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus son of Joseph from Nazareth.\u2019 46<\/sup>Nathanael said to him, \u2018Can anything good come out of Nazareth?\u2019 Philip said to him, \u2018Come and see.\u2019 47<\/sup>When Jesus saw Nathanael coming towards him, he said of him, \u2018Here is truly an Israelite in whom there is no deceit!\u2019 48<\/sup>Nathanael asked him, \u2018Where did you come to know me?\u2019 Jesus answered, \u2018I saw you under the fig tree before Philip called you.\u2019 49<\/sup>Nathanael replied, \u2018Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!\u2019 50<\/sup>Jesus answered, \u2018Do you believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree?
