I was pleased to see St Chad\u2019s Church start to hold a Sunday service again from last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, you may have seen me out walking with my faithful little friend \u201cWhisky \u201c a Shetland sheep dog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"178\" height=\"226\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/vfp53-image-1.png\" alt=\"Whisky\" class=\"wp-image-7947\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are so privileged to live in a village surrounded by beautiful countryside just a few steps away from our homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019ve met and spoken to many people over the last year that live near me, that I have hardly seen over the previous twenty years of living here. So, there has been a few benefits of the lockdown, as the pace of our busy lives has changed &#8211; it hasn\u2019t been all bad! Of course, people remember the dog\u2019s name rather than mine, but then he is better looking than me!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/vfp53-image-2_360x480.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/vfp53-image-2_360x480.jpeg\" alt=\"Littering\" class=\"wp-image-7949\" width=\"180\" height=\"240\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/vfp53-image-2_360x480.jpeg 360w, https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/vfp53-image-2_360x480-225x300.jpeg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 180px) 100vw, 180px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have walked many of the path ways and lanes around Pattingham, and it\u2019s with sadness I have to say that the lanes and roads around our beautiful village are being spoilt with litter being cast out into the verges and hedgerows by people travelling into and out of our village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On four separate occasions over this lock down period I\u2019ve come across the aftermath of fly tippers leaving serious mounds of waste in the field entrances. Initially, and probably until at least the end of April, the pattern of services will continue as it was in December and the online services will continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each Sunday there will be a service in church at 10 am which will normally include screening the Worship on Web service and a short communion service. There will also be a Commmunion service each Wednesday at 10 am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We will still not be able to share the chalice so communion will continue in one kind only. We will have to continue observing the covid precautions \u2013 wearing face coverings, hand sanitising, observing social distancing, not mingling and not singing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"This_Sunday\">Sunday 28th March &#8211; Palm Sunday<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>There will be a service in church at 10 am.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Worship on the Web<\/strong> service is a Family Service led by Gladys. It will be screened in church as the main part of the service at 10 am, when it will be followed by a brief service of Holy Communion for those who wish to stay. It will be available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/services\/worship-on-the-web\/\">Worship on the Web<\/a> page of the website from 10 am. For those without internet access it will also be on the Dial a Service phone line (01902 906585) from 9 am &#8211; until then last Sunday&#8217;s service is on the phone line. Look out for the &#8220;church open&#8221; sign outside the porch. Please observe the instructions in the notice on the door, which include the need to wear a face covering, using hand sanitiser and keeping apart from anyone else who is already in there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Next_Sunday\">Sunday 4th April &#8211; Easter Day<br><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>There will be a service of Holy Communion for Easter in church at 10 am.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There will not be a recorded<strong> Worship on the Web<\/strong> service but we hope to live stream the service for those who cannot or do not want to attend. Details wil be on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/services\/worship-on-the-web\/\">Worship on the Web<\/a> page of the website. We hope to put it on the Dial a Service phone line (01902 906585) later in the day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/services\/collects-and-readings\/collect-and-readings-4th-april-2021\/\">collect and readings<\/a> for the Eucharist, which would normally be on the pewsheet, are available on the website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Garden\">Building the Easter Garden<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This year the <strong>Building of the Easter Garden<\/strong> will take place outside in the churchyard instead of inside the church. It will take place at the usual time &#8211; <strong>10 am on Good Friday<\/strong>. Everyone is welcome but particularly children and the parents or carers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you can please bring some small flowers (ideally purple or white) in small pots, rather than cut flowers. Please also remember your face covering and remember to observe social distancing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"CC\">Century Club<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thus month&#8217;s Century Club draw will be held on Monday at 7 pm and can be seen by Zoom. Those already on the roll do not need to do anything but those who wish to join it need to complete a form and return it to Michelle Pass, the Electoral Roll Officer. To be able to vote at the 2021 APCM the completed application must be received by Wednesday 31st March. However we will need to continue to pay our bills and we would ask that those who can afford to do so should continue to give regularly. It&#8217;s at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justgiving.com\/pattingham-church\">www.justgiving.com\/pattingham-church<\/a>. You will be asked if you want to make a contribution on top of your donation. If you do it will go to JustGiving and not to charity. If you do not want to make such a contribution select \u201cother\u201d. If you are a taxpayer please consider gift aiding your donation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>If you are paying by cheque please make the cheque payable to &#8220;Pattingham PCC&#8221; or &#8220;<\/strong><strong>Pattingham Parochial Church Council<\/strong><strong>&#8220;.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ChadNet<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This bulletin is sent to those who have requested it. We now have 95 subscribers but there may still&nbsp; be some people who are not aware of it and would wish to receive it. The weekly bulletin for each Sunday will normally be sent on the preceding Friday or Saturday. Additional bulletins may be sent if required.
