‘Churchwardens’ Chat’<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

We are now in an interregnum following the retirement of the Vicar and so the monthly letter for the Parish News is written by the Churchwardens<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

July 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We want to begin with a huge Thank You to \u2018team St. Chad\u2019 for the help, from the PCC and from so many individuals, who have worked to support us in making vicar Maureen\u2019s last few weeks go smoothly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are so many of you: tidying our Church, helping with cleaning, organising money-counting and dealing with treasury matters, advising and sharing expertise on building maintenance, IT and streaming issues, ringing our church bells, organising our church music and developing our choir, dealing with rotas and reaching out to people in need of comfort and support. The list could go on!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some of this work is weekly, but other is more infrequent or one off. The more volunteers we have, the less often people have to do the tasks individually; that is why in the forthcoming months we shall be asking if you have any time or talents to share with us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will be anything, for instance: could you play a musical instrument with our Youth Band once a month? (people of any age can join!); can you join a rota to help operate our streaming service?\u2019; would you consider being a Server at a Holy Communion service once a month? amd not forgetting, of course, the often most pressing need: would you bake a cake\u2019 for our various future events!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are looking forward to holding more services but also to show and share how we are \u2018building\u2019 our Church beyond the beautiful building. One of the ways is to ask you to tell us what you would like to see St Chad\u2019s doing – with you and for you; another is to help us with our continuing work. which could be supporting \u2018Open the Book\u2019 at St. Chad\u2019s School, helpiing to organize \u2018Who\u2019s for Lunch\u2019 or helping us on our \u2018Eco Church\u2019 journey, in which we share our love for God and the creation of our wonderful world, by caring more for our environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God is at the heart of all we strive to do, and we ask that you continue to share with us this wonderful path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If we get it right \u2013 tell us and we will understand what works; if we get it wrong \u2013 tell us and we will try to do things differently!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most of all, we pray we can live joyously in the light of Christ; we must get over our disappointment in the delayed lifting of Covid-19 restrictions and carry on with God\u2019s work in hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We look forward to seeing you at the tea party farewell for Maureen on the hastily re-arranged date, 8th<\/sup> August, at 3 pm in Pattingham Village Hall. All are very welcome!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, we would like to express our thanks to visiting Reverends Henry Morris, James Makepeace and Sue Watson who have led services and communion for us during the past few weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
