The church remains open for private prayer except on Sunday and there will be a combination of streamed services and recorded Worship on the Web online. Covid-19 guidelines should be observed in church at all times.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"View\">View from the Pews<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"180\" height=\"252\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/frank-steel_180x252.png\" alt=\"Frank Steel\" class=\"wp-image-8425\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Enjoying the views<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When I was working full time, driving to Worcester every day, then doing work at home most evenings and weekends, I really didn\u2019t fully appreciate how wonderful a place Pattingham and its people truly are. I knew the church, the Co-op, the hardware store (as was), the flower shop and The Crown. That was it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/vfp67image2.png\" alt=\"Millenium footpaths\" class=\"wp-image-8426\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then, when our two sons were of an age, I appreciated the adventure play area adjacent to the football pitch and the tennis courts, where they both ran me ragged. It wasn\u2019t until I finally retired that I came to fully realise how amazing a place the village and villagers genuinely are. Well before lockdown I had discovered the variety of pathways and trails that are available to us all \u2013 and I can guarantee that nobody living within its boundaries is more than five minutes away from a good walk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/vfp67image3.png\" alt=\"Landscape\" class=\"wp-image-8427\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The countryside is open to us on all sides \u2013 and what a visual feast and sensory treat it provides. Rolling terrain, endless fields, lush farmland with well-tended crops, distant hills, vibrant woodland \u2013 we have it all, and I have to reflect on all this natural beauty and its relationship to the Creator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When Jesus was preaching his sermons and performing his miraculous acts he performed them all in the open, under blue skies and colling breezes. He had his times of trial and hardships in the desert for forty days and forty nights. He questioned what he would be called upon to do as he prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane. He was not surrounded by the walls of an intricately crafted temple or the glowing colours of artistically created stained glass windows. He was \u2013 quite simply \u2013 wedded to the landscape, under God\u2019s own sky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/vfp67image1.png\" alt=\"Path in woods\" class=\"wp-image-8428\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is why I, for one, believe that on a quiet, reflective walk, surrounded by the wonders of the natural world and refreshed by fresh air and the sound of birdsong, we can experience a calm and a sense of oneness with the world. And whilst it does not replace the coming together of the congregation in church to celebrate and worship the Holy Trinity \u2013 Father, Son and Holy Spirit \u2013 it certainly enhances the spiritual experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Frank Steel<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Could you contribute a View from the Pews?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We welcome contributions for View from the Pews from all members of the congregation. She will still be living in the Vicarage for a few weeks so we will still see her and Suzie about. Gena has therefore ceased to be Churchwarden. We are very grateful for all she has done as Churchwarden over the last four years as Churchwarden. A new Sunday School video now comes out every two weeks on a Saturday.
