{"id":8590,"date":"2021-08-16T11:36:53","date_gmt":"2021-08-16T11:36:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/?page_id=8590"},"modified":"2021-08-16T11:36:53","modified_gmt":"2021-08-16T11:36:53","slug":"collect-and-readings-19th-september-2021","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.pattinghamchurch.org.uk\/web\/services\/collects-and-readings\/collect-and-readings-19th-september-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"Collect and readings &#8211; 19th September 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sunday 19th September &#8211; Sixteenth Sunday after Trinity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Collect<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>O Lord, we beseech you mercifully to hear the prayers<br>of your people who call upon you;<br>and grant that they may both perceive and know<br>what things they ought to do,<br>and also may have grace and power faithfully to fulfil them;<br>through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,<br>who is alive and reigns with you,<br>in the unity of the Holy Spirit,<br>one God, now and for ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">First reading<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Jeremiah 11.18\u201320<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>18<\/sup> It was the Lord who made it known to me, and I knew;<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;then you showed me their evil&nbsp;deeds.<br><sup>19<\/sup> But I was like a gentle lamb<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;led to the slaughter.<br>And I did not know it was against&nbsp;me<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;that they devised schemes, saying,<br>\u2018Let us destroy the tree with its&nbsp;fruit,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;let us cut him off from the land of the living,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;so that his name will no longer be remembered!\u2019<br><sup>20<\/sup> But you, O&nbsp;Lord of hosts, who judge righteously,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;who try the heart and the mind,<br>let me see your retribution upon them,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;for to you I have committed my&nbsp;cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Gospel<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Mark 9.30\u201337<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sup>30<\/sup>&nbsp;They went on from there and passed through Galilee.
