‘Churchwardens’ Chat’<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

We are now in an interregnum following the retirement of the Vicar and so the monthly letter for the Parish News is written by the Churchwardens<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

November 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The autumn colours of gold are all around us as the leaves pivot and glide and fall at our feet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What beauty we have in and around our village!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we write, the Youth Service for October has yet to take place (on October 31) – but we know the group has been thinking and praying hard about the Cop26 discussions and focused their service on our need to care for God’s wonderful creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We all recycle and are aware of the need to cut down on single use plastic waste but can we do a little more? This is the question with which we all need to challenge ourselves; there are no easy answers but we must remain mindful of the problem which we have created and fo which we are responsible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Eco-church work helps us to stay focused on some of these issues and we know every small change is a step in the right direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We continue to be grateful for and delighted to welcome to St. Chad’s – the wonderful group of visiting priests from across our Trysull Deanery who come each week to take our services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last month we had a visit from Bishop Clive who led our Family Communion service and early in the new year we hope to welcome Archdeacon Julian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our plans for Christmas are already well advanced and we will be sharing them with you as soon as they are finalised, publishing them in the December issue of the magazine, on ChadNet and in our annual St. Chad’s Christmas card. We look forward with joy to seeing you in church to worship together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Shaping for Mission team plans to meet the Bishop later in November and then we look forward to sharing with you new ideas for strengthening our collaboration with Christians in our deanery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, if you would like to contribute to ChadNet and write a View from the Pews piece we would love to hear from you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PCC is working hard to plan for a new vicar and we thank you for your prayers and support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everything we do is in worship and praise of our Lord and we give thanks for the guidance and presence of God in all our work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this time of coughs colds and ‘flu please do stay safe and let us all make time to be a good neighbour and watch out for those around us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
