Snippets from the PCC Meeting – 5th April 2022<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The PCC\u2019s meeting on 5th April was held in church. Among the items discussed were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Covid restrictions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the continued relaxation of the legal requirements in relation to Covid-19 we have been able to remove almost all of the restrictions which we have been observing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However we are continuing to set aside the pews by the wall of the South Aisle for those who wish to observe social distancing and we are not yet in a position to change the current arrangements for Communion or for sharing the Peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Home Communion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plans to be able to provide Communion at home for those who are ill or otherwise unable to get to church are proceeding. We have bought a pyx (the small box which will hold the consecrated wafers) to complete the Home Communion set which we already had. We now need to complete the training and authorisation of those who are to go into people\u2019s homes with the Communion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meeting with the Archdeacon<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Archdeacon and the Rural Dean are attending a PCC meeting in May. We hope that they will be able to give us some information about the process to appoint a new vicar and when that might be able to happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Annual Church Meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The annual meeting for the election of churchwardens will take place on Sunday, May 8 at 11.15 am (after the morning service). That will be followed by the Annual Parochial Church Meeting at which various reports about the work of the PCC and the church will be presented and PCC members will be elected. There are currently vacancies for PCC members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are a communicant member of the church you may want to consider joining the PCC. There is some information about what is involved in being a member on the church website. The PCC will be involved in the appointment of the new vicar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coffee at Youth Services<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the beginning of the year we started a trial in which tea and coffee were served between the end of the Youth Service and the start of the short Communion service which follows it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was to allow those who did not want to stay for Communion to join everyone else in refreshments and conversation. It has been successful and we have decided to make the arrangement permanent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For other Sunday morning services, tea and coffee will continue to be served at the end of the Communion service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PCC members<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The current members of the PCC are: Philip Sims (Chairman), Tony Ainsworth, Gordon Bramall, Carol Broxton, Geoffrey Dann, Henry Ibberson, Clive Pendrell, Ken Scott, Alan Smith and Dorothy Steel.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
