July 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Colours of Day dawn into the mind \u2026”<\/em><\/strong> (Sue McClellan, John Paculabo, Keith Rycroft)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We hope the Jubilee weekend was wonderful for you and full of colour!
The beautiful flowers in Church, the red, white and blue bunting, and, of course, the lovely purple crowns decorating our village, creating memories for us all of sharing and fun and thanks for the life, dedication and the service of the Queen!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The work of the organising committee, the parish council, our volunteers and all our village businesses, who put so much into making the weekend special was amazing. We also very much appreciate all the effort everyone made, joining in the fun and bringing our village alive in celebration!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jubilee afternoon tea was a ‘triumph’, the wonderful music from John Fellows and his singers made the afternoon a real treat. We were pleased to welcome Sir Gavin Williamson, our MP who made a surprise visit and spent time with us, helping to serve tea and talking with guests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now the ‘party is over’ it may feel a little ‘flat’ but there is more good news to come! Make sure you have made a note of our summer fete on July 16, where there will be a wide variety of stalls and fun to share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are also delighted to confirm St. Chad’s is organising a Holiday Club for children aged five to 11, to take place at Kingswood, in August. There are a limited number of places so see details of the activity programme and how to book on Page 9 of the magazine. Details can also be found on Chadnet and Facebook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following guidance from the Church of England, it was agreed by the PCC to reintroduce the Common Cup as part of Holy Communion from the altar rail from Wednesday June 8. This change has already been carried out in most churches in our deanery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those who would prefer to do so it will be possible to receive bread only. Alternatively, a blessing at the altar rail is always available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are also now offering Home Holy Communion for those who are unable to attend church for health reasons. Please see Page 6 for details on how to put your name on this list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
