Last month we mourned the passing of our beloved Queen Elizabeth II. She had worldwide tributes for her lengthy dedication to duty and enduring Christian faith. Her funeral was spectacular. May she rest in peace with God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was sad news, but we look towards a new beginning with King Charles III. This in itself brings new things \u2013 new coins, new stamps, and new post boxes with his royal cipher. Even new words to the National Anthem. I have no doubt that his strong faith will guide him in his new role. Also, the promise made by members of The Guide Association contains the new words \u201c\u2026.to serve the King\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A morning sunrise is God\u2019s way of saying, \u2018let\u2019s start again\u2019. Throughout our lives we all experience many new beginnings \u2013 some are scary, some are exciting, some are happy and some are sad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Harvest time has passed so farmers are now planning for the New Year and the next round of crops, thankful for the fertile earth. Winter is fast approaching and nature is preparing for the cold months ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">New terms at schools, colleges and universities can be daunting, in unfamiliar buildings and surroundings, until a friendly voice says \u2018Hello\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Starting a new job, moving to a new place to live, beginning or ending a relationship, having a baby, or embarking on life without a loved one, are just a few examples of some of the new beginnings we may experience. Even starting a new hobby, trying something for the first time, or rehabilitation after an illness, is a new beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No matter what the new beginning brings, we just need to remember that there is one constant by our side, God. With God, all things are possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Bible offers advice and encouragement for beginning a new chapter by providing strength and support in the Word of God. 2 Corinthians, 5:17, states: \u201cTherefore if any man&nbsp;be&nbsp;in Christ,&nbsp;he is&nbsp;a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.\u201d This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun. An inspiring message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Indeed, there are several stories of new beginnings in the Bible: Noah and the Ark; Moses and the Ten Commandments; and Jacob who overcame being a scoundrel; to name but a few.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let us bravely try new beginnings knowing that God will be with us, remembering the hymn \u2018New every morning is the love\u2026.\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rosemary Claxton<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"would-you-like-to-write-a-view-from-the-pews\">Would you like to write a View from the Pews?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We welcome contributions for View from the Pews from anyone who would like to write one, It does not need to be on any particular subject. On other days of the week the church will remain open until at least 6.30 pm and there will be a sheet of prayers left in the Lady Chapel for people to use if they wish. If you would like to join the team of people who take turns to lead the Prayers for Peace please contact Mary Hayward (<a href=\"mailto:maryleah@hotmail.co.uk\">maryleah@hotmail.co.uk<\/a>)<em><strong>.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On <strong><strong>Tuesday<\/strong> evening<\/strong> there is a <strong><strong>PCC meeting<\/strong><\/strong> in church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>On Wednesday<\/strong> there will be a service of <strong>Holy Communion<\/strong> according to the Book of Common Prayer, led by Revd James Makepeace, in church at 10.00 am which will be followed by tea, coffee and cake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On <strong>Wednesday<\/strong> at <strong>12 noon Who&#8217;s for Lunch?<\/strong> is held in the <strong>Village Hall<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Next_Sunday\">Sunday 30th October &#8211; All Saints&#8217; Sunday<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>At 10 am <\/strong>there will be aservice of <strong>Holy Communion<\/strong> by extension, led by Ken Scott, in church. <strong>Coffee (and tea and biscuits) will be available after the service.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At <strong>6.30 pm<\/strong> the <strong>All Souls Memorial Service<\/strong>, led by Iain Coleman, will be held in church. All are welcome. During the service we will remember by name all those for whom funerals have been held in the last 2 years and those whose names are in the Memorial Book who have died within the last 6 years. There is a list at the back of church to allow the addition of other names. The list will be removed on Thursday 27th October. He was a ringer at both Patshull and Pattingham and was Ringing Master at Pattingham.
