In support of the 2025 Pattingham Scarecrow Festival, there is to be ‘Sounds of Brass’, a brass band concert by The Staffordshire Band in St Chad’s Church, Pattingham on the evening of Saturday 27th September 2025, commencing at 7.30pm. The profit will be shared equally between two charities: Midland Freewheelers Blood Bikes and Village by Village.
Midland Freewheelers Blood Bikes is a charity which provides an urgent Motorcycle Courier Service to the NHS. The service is provided by a team of volunteer riders, drivers, coordinators and fundraisers, all at no cost to the NHS. A member of the National Association of Blood Bikes (NABB) they offer a 24/7 service transporting blood, breast milk, drugs and other urgent medical supplies for the local NHS Trusts, completely free of charge. Village by Village is a UK-based charity working in African villages to reduce needless suffering of children in poverty by working directly with beneficiaries living in impoverished rural communities in Ghana, West Africa. Village by Village builds rural schools, provides practical sanitation measures, awards child scholarships and digs wells. Henry and Alan spoke about it at the Family Service in July 2025.
