PCC Member of the Month: Carol Broxton
This is the latest in our series of pen portraits of members of St Chad’s Parochial Church Council and features Carol Broxton
Former fete organiser, councillor — and member of many committees

I joined the PCC ten years ago and during my time I have done a lot of various volunteering duties for the Church and still do.
I was sole organiser of the Church Fete and I did six in a row altogether: I was pleased with its success, year on year. It was hard work but great fun. After the last one I stepped down due to health issues.
Before I began organising the Fete I was with a small group running the August Fun Day on the playing field, an event which lasted for four years. From 2011 to 2015 I did a full term of office as a councillor on Pattingham and Patshull Council. I am on the over-65s Christmas dinner committee and the Village Hall committee and, before it ceased to be a separate body, I was on the Playing Fields committee.
I was also on the Pattingham Club committee for five years and when I look back I seem to have spent a lot of my time on committees — good bad or indifferent!! — but helpful for the Church and village.
I helped out for more than three years as one of the team with the weekly youth club in the Village hall on Friday nights. Sadly it is no more which is such a shame. I also helped out at the monthly bingo sessions in the village hall on Monday evenings until that also ceased.
I have spent most of my life in Pattingham, living here from the age of 16, leaving for a time and then coming back again.
