Introduction of Home Communion at St. Chad’s
Following discussion at the PCC and with the agreement of the Rural Dean we are now able to provide a service of Holy Communion to members of St. Chad’s Church who are housebound, for whatever reason. A small team of volunteers is now approved to take consecrated bread and wine to those who feel unable to get to church.
This administration will usually be available on Sunday mornings after the 10.00am service is finished, but will also be available at other times as requested. Two members of the team will visit and the short service will usually last about 20 minutes to half an hour.
The only thing needed from the recipient is a small jug of water, everything else will be provided.
If you would like to make use of this facility, or you know someone else who might benefit from it, please get in touch with the Wardens or Ken Scott so that suitable arrangements can be made.
Participating in communion in this way enables those who take part to feel part of the worshipping church community in a very real way.
