Snippets from the PCC Meeting – 7th June 2022
The PCC’s meeting on 7th June was held in church. Among the items discussed were:
Reintroduction of the Common Cup
One of the remaining restrictions due to the Covid pandemic was that administration of the Communion was at the chancel step and only the bread (dipped in wine by the priest) was given to the communicant.
We are now returning to the previous practice of administration at the altar rail with communicants being given bread and then wine from the Common Cup separately.
For those who would prefer to do so it will be possible to receive bread only but intinction (dipping the bread in the wine) will no longer be possible.
Home Communion
Arrangements for Home Communion have now been completed. See the separate article from Ken Scott here.
Holiday Club
Arrangements are being made for a Holiday Club for children aged five to 11 which will be held at the Kingswood Centre from Monday August 22 to Wednesday August 24. Details are here.
Confirmation class
The churchwardens are in discussion with the Rural Dean about arranging a confirmation course for those who would are interested in being confirmed. Anyone who might be interested should contact Clive or Dorothy so that they are aware of how many might attend.
Christmas Tree Festival
We are hoping to hold a Christmas Tree Festival again this year. The Outreach and Growth Informal Working Group is making plans for this and progress will be reported to the next PCC meeting.
