Snippets from the PCC Meeting – 20th August 2024
The PCC meeting on August 20 was held in church. Among the matters discussed were:
Mission Action Plan
The Mission Action Plan, which sets out the PCC’s priorities for the rest of this year and next, was approved. It builds on those for previous years and also links to the Diocesan Strategic Framework which was launched recently. A copy is on the church website for those who are interested in reading more.
Magazine subscription secretary
Ian Darby, who has been Magazine subscription secretary for several years, has decided that it is time to step down from the role. The PCC is grateful to Ian and to his wife, Chloë, from whom he took over, for their work over the last eight years.
We need to find a replacement. The role involves receiving the subscriptions which are collected by the magazine distributors and maintaining records. If you would like to volunteer, or would like further information, please speak to Geoffrey Dann or any member of the PCC.
The Well
As a church we continue to support the Well Foodbank in Wolverhampton. The recent collection of foreign currency raised just over £160 which we made up to a round £175 from church funds.
The box for donations of food and toiletries is at the back of the church and cash donations can be put in the wishing well. If you are able to spare something for those less well off, a donation of food, toiletries or cash to The Well is an excellent way of doing so.
Guidance on sidespersons’ duties
The guidance on sidespersons’ duties has been revised and circulated to sidespersons and is also on the church website. It is a work in progress and it will be revised further once we have received comments.
Dementia-friendly church training session: October 12
As part of our commitment to becoming a dementia-friendly church we are hosting a session in the Village Hall on Saturday 12th October. It is being led by Sarah Thorpe, the Dementia-Friendly Church Enabler for the Diocese of Lichfield, and is open to all to attend. See details elsewhere in the magazine. If you wish to attend – or would like to find out more – please speak to Tracey Williams, our Dementia Friendly Church Co-ordinator.
