We are looking for a Youth and Family Worker
St Chad’s is an active, growing church and we pride ourselves on being at the heart of the village community. In order to help maintain this position we now wish to appoint a Youth & Family Worker.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the leadership of St Chad’s church in a new role.
We are looking to appoint an inspiring and enthusiastic person to pioneer new work that will enable young people and families to encounter the love of God and become part of our church as a more inclusive, all age community of faith.
We have contact with some young people and families through our parish ministry and church school, but in recent years have not seen many young families finding a living faith or becoming part of church life. We want this to change. We are committing significant resources to this purpose and recognise that this will be long term work with no easy solutions and many challenges ahead.
We understand that starting from small beginnings will take time and require others to work alongside the Youth & Family Worker; we also anticipate there will be a lot of flexibility as to how you do the job.
We want to grow our ministry with families and young people who do not attend church and for the church to be good news for families within our community by helping in ways which will encourage them to become involved in the church. The focus will be on children in Early Years through to teenagers in Key Stage 4 and their families so this will involve liaison with schools outside the parish. St Chad’s Church of England (VC) First School & Nursery is in close proximity to the church.
