‘Churchwardens’ Chat’
We are now in an interregnum following the retirement of the Vicar and so the monthly letter for the Parish News is written by the Churchwardens
September 2022
Now thank we all our God,
withheart and hands and voices,
who wonderous things has done

Autumn is upon us and there is so much activity! Harvest is being gathered and we are looking toward to our Harvest Festival service in church on September 25.
We continue with our Eco-church work and are hoping soon to dedicate a special ‘wild area’ in the graveyard where wild flowers can flourish, attracting insects and bees and showing our appreciation for Creation.
Our new ‘Chill Out’ Club will be opening soon – if you are interested in volunteering to help please contact:
Our service for Ukraine led by Ken on August 7 was truly amazing; it was really wonderful to welcome so many of you to church and your generosity supporting Ukraine was incredible! We offer prayers of thanks.
We were delighted to meet the young people who planned to attend our Holiday Club at Kingswood; some are already well known to us through Youth Group and Family Services; other young people and their families came to meet us in church on August 7 and we look forward to welcoming them all back into church, at our 10am service on Sunday, September 4 when we will hear more about their holiday club adventures!
Sincere thanks to Anna, Alison, Frank, Jill and Mark, and indeed to all who worked hard to make the experience so memorable; and thanks, too, to the PCC for financial support, ensuring St. Chad’s Church Holiday Club would go ahead.
We hope to advertise for our new vicar during the autumn and we pray for your continued patience and that God will guide us in our decision making.
God Bless,
Clive Pendrell and Dorothy Steel

PS
Congratulations to lain Coleman who has completed his Lay Reader programme. He will be a wonderful friend and mentor to Clive who begins his Lay Reader course this month.
