Eight candidates from St Chad’s among 24 confirmed by Bishop of Lichfield
On the afternoon of 11th June we had a most enjoyable and meaningful confirmation service in St. Chad’s.
The Bishop of Lichfield, The Rt Rev Dr Michael Ipgrave, officiated and candidates from six churches in the Trysull Deanery were confirmed.
From our own church we had eight candidates: Daisy Colin-Stokes, Frankie Davies, Heston Ellis-Khanna, Jess Yeomans, Jessica Pullan, Malachi Allingham, Morgan Ellis-Khanna and Oliver Pullan.
In addition there were candidates from All Saints, Trysull, Holy Cross, Bobbington, St. Bartholomew, Penn, St. Michael and All Angels, Tettenhall and St Benedict, Wombourne.
A total of 24 candidates made it a very large and well-supported event with 170 people present.
The act of confirmation was followed by a Communion service when most of the candidates took communion for the first time. At the conclusion of the service all of our Pattingham confirmees were presented with a Bible from the Church.
We followed up the service with tea and cakes in the village hall and this was much appreciated.
Many thanks to all those who supported the candidates and provided and served refreshments. In particular thanks to Gena Richards for the enormous amount of work she put in, to both the service in church and the tea in the Hall.
It is a long time since Pattingham hosted a service like this for the Deanery and our efforts were well complemented by our visitors.
We pray for our new young church members that they may continue in, and develop their faith over the coming months and years.
